In the midst of stormy winds in the middle of the sea, Peter called on to Jesus who came to Peter, walking on the stormy seas. When Jesus told Peter to come to Him, Peter too walked on water. But then he began to sink and had to be rescued by Jesus.

Why did Peter sink into the waters after he walked on them by the power of God? What causes us to lose our faith in the middle of a crisis? Will Jesus call us "you of little faith" and ask us why we doubted like he did Peter? Click on the play button on the below left to listen.

Peter and the other disciples were in the middle of the sea rowing to the other side when a violent storm struck. Petrified with fear, they couldn't even recognize the Lord Jesus when He came to save them. Are we so engrossed in fighting the storms in our lives and going against the winds and tides that we don't even recognize Jesus when He shows up? Do we ask that we may go where He is or ask Him for a word in our situation? Peter did. And he was able to walk on the very elements that were trying to kill Him. The Apostle Peter, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, said we should cast (throw) our cares on the Lord. A hungry Jesus arrived at a blooming fig tree hoping to find something to eat. He found nothing because the fig tree was not fruitful. Unproductive. As Christians, are we being fruitful and productive? Are we using the resources Jesus gives us to be productive and give back to Jesus? When Jesus inspects us as He did the fig tree, will He find us productive and fruitful?

While serving God faithfully the apostle Peter finds himself in jail, tied to the guards and sleeping between them. Interestingly enough, Peter is asleep in the midst of his crisis. What is it that God did for Peter that brought him out of his prison and into his promise? What is it that God will do for you, to bring you out of the prison you are in, a place where you feel trapped without any way out, and into the promise and calling that He has for you? Faced with invading armies, Jehoshaphat received a word from God and followed it, witnessing the destruction of his enemies at God's hand. God brought Jehoshaphat and his nation Judah to a place of favor, peace and rest. But what happened after God answers? What happens in our lives after God answers our prayers and rescues us from destruction? Do we remove everything that may lead us away from God in our period of rest, peace and favor?
