God is Holy and His Holiness expresses itself in many ways, 2 of which are His hatred of sin and His divine mercy. He is a God who is perfect in all His ways, yet merciful. A God who hates sin but loves the sinner insomuch that He did not spare heaven's best to provide a way back for sinful man. God's most important attribute is that of Holiness. He is holy. Isaiah saw a vision of Him in the temple and was awestruck at His Holiness. The people of Israel encountered "giants in the land". David fought Goliath the giant. We too have giants in our lives, issues and situations that are bigger than us that threaten to destroy us. Find your strength in the Lord of hosts, the captain of the Lord's army, Jesus Christ. Just as He empowered David to overcome the giant he faced, the Lord will wage war on your behalf against the giants you face. Victory is certain.

In a world consumed with materialism and obtaining wealth, God instructs us instead to seek wisdom above wealth. Instruction over silver, knowledge over gold, wisdom over rubies. The Lord wants to give you godly wisdom which will serve you far better than any material wealth, godly wisdom which cannot be bought.

The Bible tells the story of the prophet who made up his mind and resolved that he would not contaminate himself. Believers in Christ must make the same decision. A practical message regarding the use of the time God gives us. David ignored his priorities and spent his time in an illicit affair instead. He lost his kingdom, his family and his status as a result. More importantly he failed the God whom he loved. Are you spending your time wisely?
