Bo Noonan teaches from Acts 20 where we get a beautiful picture of church leadership. Leaders in the church are called to serve, love, and to work in a team. This allows the church to flourish as we become apprentices to Jesus who learn to be with Jesus, to be like Jesus, and to do what Jesus does.
Bo Noonan teaches from Acts 19. In this story, we learn about the life-changing experience of being filled with the Holy Spirit as we see a group of people from the city of Ephesus encounter this blessing from God. Bo then asks the question, "Are we acquainted with our privileges as children of God?" The Holy Spirit can help us with this.
This week we take time to look at the father heart of God during what many refer to as "Orphan Sunday" - a day to remember the Church's call to care for the fatherless. Waymond Hampton shares some of his family's story in regards to adoption and looks at the scriptural basis for caring for the fatherless and the oppressed.
On of the main ways NCC serves this vulnerable population is through Olive Crest, a great organization in Tacoma. Learn more about Olive Crest at OliveCrest.org or find specific ways to serve and give at champion.olivecrest.org/ncctacoma
In this one-off teaching, Bo Noonan takes some time to look at how we, as a church in America, can show the heart of Jesus and think rightly during such divisive times.
Bo Noonan teaches from Acts 18. In this story, we see God's grace as Jesus speaks to Paul in regard to fear and mission. He then provides an encouraging and life-giving community for Paul in an unexpected place.
Bo Noonan teaches from Acts 17 and walks through the story of the Apostle Paul in the Greek city of Athens. We learn about not only what he saw and said, but how he felt and acted in this foreign place. Once again, we see that the good news of Jesus is about laying down our own liberties for the sake of others knowing the love of the savior, Jesus.
Bo Noonan teaches from Acts 16 and breaks down three amazing conversion experiences where we learn that the good news of Jesus is not for a single type of people, it is for ALL people. Whether we are skeptical, curious, or in the midst of a powerful encounter with God, there is room for us in God's family.
This week Bo Noonan shares about one of the most important meetings the Early Church ever had. It takes place in Acts 15 and has huge significance, as it clarifies both the MESSAGE and the MISSION of those who follow Jesus.
This week Bo Noonan teaches through a crazy story in Acts 14 where Barnabas and Paul are somehow mistaken for the Greek gods Zeus and Hermes. As crazy as that sounds, we all have our view of who God is, and sometimes it may be just as confusing as this story. How do we actually know who God is? Once we find the answer to that we can experience Better than Normal.
This week Bo Noonan continues our Better Than Normal series as he teaches from Acts 13 and an encounter Barnabas and Saul have with a city leader and a false prophet. Better than Normal for us this week is learning to deny the lies of our culture and religion and to receive the truth that Jesus loves us, is for us, and promises to carry our burdens and sin.
