X:V-XIII is the twenty-second week of this series. After Romans 9 illustrates God’s sovereignty, Romans 10 reminds us of mankind’s responsibility. We are all commanded to be obedient and to repent. Belief in Christ is available and applicable to all men. It is a worship inducing thought to realize that no one will ever be rejected; that all who call upon the name of the Lord will be saved!

IX:XXX-X:IV is the twenty-first week of this series. The nation of Israel provides an example for us of a failure to reach heaven by good works. If we will be saved, we will be saved by grace alone. We are not saved by works but unto works. Israel’s reminder reminds us to cling to grace and pursue others with that message.

IX:XIV-XXIX is the twentieth week of this series. The doctrine of election is one that does not sit well with many people but it is a prevalent teaching throughout scripture. In Romans 9, the apostle Paul gives us one of the most in depth looks into the sovereignty of God. God’s sovereignty gives us hope in evangelism, a basis for worship, and a sure salvation.

IX:I-XIII is the nineteenth week of this series. Romans 9 is one of the most lofty chapters in the entire bible as it deals with the doctrine of God’s sovereign choosing. In Paul’s introduction to the text, he uses examples from Israel’s history that illustrate election. Upon seeing these truths, we realize that there was nothing desirable within us for God to choose us which leads to His utmost praise. We are truly saved by grace alone and not by works.

VIII:XXXI-XXXIX is the eighteenth week of this series. Christians are given supreme assurance of their salvation. In Romans 8, the apostle Paul makes it abundantly clear that nothing can separate us from the love of Christ. With this assurance, Christians have no opposition or accusation that can overtake them. This leads us to deep worship and unfailing mission.

VIII:XXVI-XXX is the seventeenth week of this series. In this sermon, we see the work of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer. The Sprit helps, searches, and intercedes on behalf of believers. This passage also assures the believers that God is working everything together for His will and glory.

VIII:XVIII-XXV is the sixteenth week of this series. The Apostle Paul describes creation as eagerly longing for the finality of redemption. God is doing a work among His children and we, as Christians, also eagerly await its completion. Until then, scripture says that we have a guarantee of its completion and a sure hope of salvation. This gives us deep cause for worship and empowerment for mission. Amen.

VIII:I-XVII is the fifteenth week of this series. The Holy Spirit being active in the life of a believer is a necessary imperative. Without the regeneration brought about by the Spirit and His empowering of us daily, our faith would be dead. The Spirit’s activity in our lives remind us of our identity and equip us for God’s mission.

VII:XIII-XXV is the fourteenth week of this series. There is a war that wages inside every Christian that will last for the duration of every Christian’s earthly life. This leaves us in a constant state of battle: our sinful nature versus our regenerated soul. Thankfully, the Spirit gives us strength for this battle and we have a Savior who guarantees victory for us.

VII:I-XII is the thirteenth week of this series. Families come together for funerals and weddings. One is for grieving and the other is for celebrating. Paul uses the analogies of death and marriage in the book of Romans to show us that we have spiritually died but have been resurrected to be joined to our bridegroom, Jesus.
