In today's sermon, Hughie discusses this passage from Ephesians. We see that husbands cannot save their wives, but they should 'sacrifice' for them as Christ laid down his life for the Church.

Wives should be subject to their husbands as to the Lord. Wives submit as Jesus should submit to the Father and submit not to 'men' but to her husband.

For husbands, loving your wife is a *command*, whatever the circumstances, husbands are instructed to love.

v1-11 We see our standing in the Spirit. We are righteous in God's eyes because of the Spirit in us. We have freedom from sin and freedom from death. We have peace with God.

v12-13 Our service in the Spirit. Our obligation to put to death the misdeed of the body

v14-17 Our sonship in the Spirit. We have all the privileges of being heirs with Christ. We should remember in our suffering that we WILL share in God's glory.
