We consider the Father's plan and how Jesus was the Obedient Servant in fulfilling that plan, with the wonderful result that we have life through the work of Jesus Christ.

Too often we can allow our relationship with God to become lukewarm - just some ordinary thing in our lives - like our daily prayers - Grace or bedtime prayers, can just become some words that we say with little passion. Rather, we need to be in constant amazement of our God.

It had been many years since young David was anointed king by the prophet Samuel (1 Sam 16). Twenty years had passed in his life. What was God up to during this time? David had spent much of those years in the wilderness battling emotional fatigue, withering pain, financial stress, prolonged waiting, discouragement and anxiety. Difficult soil indeed. What crop was God trying to grow within David? What crop is God trying to grow in us?
