  • God is Fair & Just
Did Pharoah harden his own heart or did God harden Pharoahs heart? Are we created for special purposes or common use? Do we affect the purpose of God by our actions? We may come up with different answers to these questions. We may be tempted to question Gods purposes and actions. But we can be sure that God, who is fair and just, will be merciful and compassionate to everyone.

  • Elected to Fulfill God's Sovereign Purpose
Christians have disagreed rather sharply with each other regarding the word election in Romans 9:11. The debate has raged whether God chooses those who are saved or whether God allows all people to either respond to or resist his grace. Despite the disagreements, all Christians can agree that the purpose and plan of God for all human beings collectively and individually will come to pass.

  • Paul's Unceasing Anguish
Paul expresses unceasing anguish for his people, the children of Israel, that they would know their Messiah. They had received everything from God to bring them to the knowledge and acceptance of Jesus (Yeshua). But the children of Israel chose what God had given over God himself. Paul expressed his anguish and heart desire for the salvation of the Jewish people so that non-Jewish people would also pray for and desire the same.

  • Living According to the Spirit - Part 3
Living according to the Spirit is living according to the love of God the love of God for us and our love for him. It is only when we consider the attributes of Gods love for us his sacrificial, unconditional, unlimited, and eternal love that covers over a multitude of sins that we can love others according to 1 Corinthians 13:4-7. We must make a conscious choice every day to live according to the love of God.

  • Living According to the Spirit - Part 2
Based on Romans 8:1-13, we live according to the Spirit when we live free of condemnation, we do not set our minds on what the flesh desires, and, quite importantly, we set our minds on what the Spirit desires. Romans 8:14-30 teaches us that living according to the Spirit means that:
We live in awareness of our adoption as children of God
We live in awareness of our present reality and our future glory
We live in awareness of our weaknesses and the strengthening of the Spirit

  • Living According to the Spirit - Part 1
Romans 8 begins with the glorious declaration that because of what Christ has done, there is now no condemnation (legal consequence of sin) for those who are in Christ Jesus! Sin is no longer about breaking the rules of God. It is about breaking the relationship with God. Maintaining the relationship with the Lord means that we live according to the Spirit rather than living according to the flesh. Those who live according to the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.Watch at: https://youtu.be/cz5UhI-tb9c File Downloads: https://dq5pwpg1q8ru0.cloudfront.net/2021/10/18/08/34/33/72d408bd-d5b0-49eb-a728-5488bdfd599b/Week%2014%20-%20101721%20-%20Romans%208%201-13%20(Questions).pdf

  • Delivered From the Law
The law of God makes us aware of sin. It lets us we see our sin for what it is. We realize that we are utterly sinful. However, as Paul makes clear in Romans 7:25 we praise and thank God for having delivered us from sin through Jesus Christ our Lord. We must read verses 14-24 in light of the victory that Christ has already wrought for us. We are not doomed to remain in a perpetual conflict with sin or be overcome by sin. Rather, we have been delivered from the law of sin and death to live a free and victorious life! • Not Bound to the Law
Just as Paul uses the example of physical slavery to explain becoming slaves of Christ, he uses the example of marriage to explain that we are no longer bound to the law. Instead, we are now willingly bound to Christ because we died to sin and the law. Rather than limiting us, the law of God enables and equips us to fulfill the mission of the Church to love God, love people, and make disciples. • Slaves to Righteousness
Paul uses physical slavery as an example from everyday life in the Ancient Near East to make this important point, Just as you used to offer yourselves as slaves to impurity and to ever-increasing wickedness, so now offer yourselves as slaves to righteousness leading to holiness. Offering ourselves to the lordship of Christ is our voluntary response to his setting us free from the slavery of sin. As we choose to live in the righteousness of God, we reap benefits that lead to holiness and eternal life.Watch at: https://youtu.be/4gT4_c3G1kw File Downloads: https://dq5pwpg1q8ru0.cloudfront.net/2021/09/21/16/28/53/c50c61c7-33b8-47a5-8715-2bf41161ada6/Week%2011%20-%20091921%20-%20Romans%206%2015-23%20(Questions).pdf

  • A Death Notice
Paul explains how water baptism is our public declaration of a private change of status: we have died to sin and are now raised up to new life in Christ Jesus. The immersion in water, signifying death and burial, is a death notice of the old self. The rising up from the water, signifying resurrection of the new self, is a commitment to live our lives to God by offering up every part of our whole being as instruments of righteousness.Watch at: https://youtu.be/OYxyz1AAJsQ File Downloads: https://dq5pwpg1q8ru0.cloudfront.net/2021/09/13/14/56/04/e681f2ce-a38f-48e4-9130-5df9f1a447cf/Week%2010%20-%20091221%20-%20Romans%206%201-14%20(Questions).pdf
