Faithfulness is easy until something goes wrong, but God is faithful even when we are not. In week one of the ...ful series, Pastor Dale explains that this kind of faithfulness is not something we can produce on our own.
1. Faithfulness is unwavering trust and commitment to God and others, and God's kind of faithfulness holds steady even when circumstances or people let us down.
2. This faithfulness is produced by the Holy Spirit as fruit in our lives, not by willpower or religious effort.
3. Faithfulness brings eternal life, protection from the evil one, deliverance, and strength through trials.
When trouble comes, most of us pray, but we forget to praise. In the final week of The Real Enemy, Pastor Dale uses Paul and Silas in prison to show that praise is a weapon God has given us.
1. Praise changes your perspective before it changes your problem, so you never pray without praising.
2. When you praise, God shakes prison walls, and praise declares victory before you ever see it.
3. Praise brings freedom to the people around you, as it did for the other prisoners and the jailer.
The devil has no new tricks, but we cannot defeat an enemy we do not understand. In week three of The Real Enemy, Pastor Dale looks at what the Bible says about Satan so believers can stay alert and stand firm.
1. Satan is our enemy, prowling like a roaring lion, though he is not all-powerful and cannot touch us without God's permission.
2. Satan is the god of this world, blinding the minds of those who do not believe.
3. Satan is a murderer, and we can even murder with our words.
4. Satan is a master deceiver and tempter, so we must trust God's Word over our feelings, as Jesus did.
Scripture says to put on the full armor of God, but what does each piece really mean? In week two of The Real Enemy, Pastor Dale explains that the armor is built on one truth: faith in Jesus and what he finished on the cross.
1. We must submit to God's plan, embracing proper faith and putting on the full armor of God, so we can resist the devil in evil days.
2. We stand our ground by putting on the armor: the belt of truth, the righteousness of Christ, the peace of the gospel, and the shield of faith that stops the fiery darts of the enemy.
Every believer is in a battle, and Paul admitted in Romans 7 that he could not win it by willpower. In week one of The Real Enemy, Pastor Dale shows that the invisible battle is designed to weaken our faith, and that victory comes through the Holy Spirit, not our own effort.
1. God has given us marching orders: be strengthened by the Lord, not strong in our own willpower, by keeping our faith in Jesus and what he did on the cross.
2. God tells us how to stand firm against the strategies of the devil, who attacks our minds and tempts us to take on the ways of the world.
Pastor Dale closes the This Is Us series by giving biblical reasons to love the church, which is God's idea and His plan to reach the world. He shows how the church supports missions around the world and how it stands on the grace of God.
1. I love my church because Jesus loved the church.
2. I love my church because it is the family of God, not because of a building.
3. I love my church because it supports the Great Commission.
4. I love my church because it understands God's grace.
Pastor Dale teaches that the church is called to go beyond our comfort, beyond our walls, and beyond our borders. In week three of This Is Us, he shows that we cannot do this on our own and that God provides what we need to go.
1. God empowers us to go beyond our comfort.
2. God equips us to go beyond our walls.
Pastor Dale opens with the current state of the world and the Bible's warning about the last days, then explains that the church is called to a spiritual and doctrinal fight. In week two of This Is Us, he teaches that there are three things we must fight for together.
1. We fight for the faith, keeping Jesus Christ and Him crucified the main thing.
2. We fight for our families, building a Christ-centered home.
3. We fight for the fellowship by attending, encouraging one another, and building each other up.
Pastor Dale begins the This Is Us series on who we are as a church and what we are called to do together. In week one, he teaches that God did not call us to be islands, but to belong to the family of God and take our place in it.
1. The church is the body of Christ.
2. The church is united in Christ, not a building.
3. The church is a spiritual entity, the living temple of God.
Fire in the Bible can also mean trials, and Pastor Dale turns to Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego to show how to stay faithful in the furnace. In the final week of Back to the Fire, he teaches that God is with us in the fire and that He always delivers.
1. We know the difference between faith and faithfulness.
2. We know God always delivers and we trust Him with the outcome.
3. When we fall, we get back up and don't wallow.
4. We know the test frees us but can never kill us.
