  • Andrew

Andrew is not the best-known disciple, but he brought his brother Peter to Jesus, and Peter went on to preach to thousands. On Father's Day, in week six of Disciples, Pastor Cory shows that you do not have to be famous to make a difference; you only have to be faithful.

    1. Difference makers share what matters most; ask yourself who your one is and invite them.

    2. Difference makers bring what they have, and God can do something with what looks like nothing.

    3. Difference makers follow Jesus, daily and not just on Sundays.

  • Judas

Judas walked with Jesus for three and a half years, watched the miracles, and heard every sermon, yet his heart never changed. In week five of Disciples, Pastor Dale uses Judas as a warning that Christianity is about a changed life and a whole heart.

    1. Judas refused to change; being near Jesus is not enough, and only the Holy Spirit can change a heart.

    2. Judas had a divided heart; partial commitment is no commitment at all.

    3. Judas saw worship as waste, but everything we do for the Lord is worth it, and he is worthy of our praise.

    4. Never let go of Jesus, no matter what you have done or what has been done to you.

  • Thomas

Thomas is remembered as a doubter, but Pastor Dale argues he was a show-me believer who wanted a faith of his own. In week four of Disciples, he shows that Thomas also had courage, and that his story helps us when doubt and discouragement come.

    1. All believers can be pessimistic and doubtful at times, but God remains faithful when we are not.

    2. We should experience the Lord firsthand and test what we hear against the Word.

    3. Trust the Lord no matter how things look; Thomas said, "Let us go and die with him."

  • James

James and John asked for the seats of honor next to Jesus, and their request shows both the gift and the danger of ambition. In week three of Disciples, Pastor Dale teaches that God gave us ambition for a purpose, that sin can twist it, and that Jesus is the only cure.

    1. God created us to be ambitious people.

    2. Our ambition is perverted by our sin nature, producing jealousy, envy, and disorder.

    3. Jesus is the only cure for selfish ambition; he came not to be served but to serve.

  • Peter

Peter was impulsive, quick-tempered, and denied Jesus three times, and he still became the lead disciple. In week two of Disciples, Pastor Dale shows that God uses imperfect people.

    1. Jesus meets people as they are and right where they are.

    2. We are vulnerable to Satan.

    3. Even when we are vulnerable and weak, Jesus can still use us.

  • John

John was fiery enough to be called a son of thunder, yet he is known as the apostle of love because he kept his focus on how much Jesus loved him. In week one of Disciples, Pastor Dale shows that when we focus on God's love for us rather than our love for him, our lives change.

    1. We find a closeness to the Lord that others do not experience.

    2. We receive extraordinary assignments that others do not get.

    3. We win in life, and we recognize Jesus when others do not.

  • Hell

Surveys show most people expect to end up in heaven, yet the Bible speaks plainly about hell. In the second message of One Minute After You Die, Pastor Dale walks through what Scripture says about hell, why it exists, and why the choice between life and death belongs to each of us.

    1. Hell is a real place, described in Scripture as everlasting separation from God.

    2. Hell exists for God to deal righteously with Satan, and it grows because people reject Jesus.

    3. Jesus sends no one to hell; we choose, so choose life today.

  • Heaven

What you believe about eternity determines how you live. In the first message of One Minute After You Die, Pastor Dale describes heaven from Scripture, answers the idea that it will be boring, and reminds us that we are only passing through this world.

    1. Heaven is not boring; it is the absence of evil and the presence of Almighty God.

    2. This world is not our home; we are just passing through.

    3. Good people do not go to heaven; forgiven people do, and rejecting Jesus is what keeps a person out.

  • Deuteronomy (Easter)

Moses told the next generation to learn from the mistakes of the one before them. On Easter Sunday, in the Binge the Bible overview of Deuteronomy, Pastor Dale shows that God sets before us a choice between blessing and curse, and that the key to life is loving and obeying the Lord.

    1. Complaining is the sin of unbelief and robs us of God's best.

    2. Disobedience equals negative consequences.

    3. Obedience equals blessings, so choose life.

  • Numbers

The children of Israel could have reached the promised land in two weeks, yet it took forty years because they would not do life God's way. In episode five of Binge the Bible, Pastor Dale gives an overview of the book of Numbers and what the wilderness journey teaches believers today.

    1. God is a God of order, and life must be done his way or there is no promised land.

    2. God desires to be the central focus of our life, just as the tabernacle sat in the center of the camp.

    3. God is a God of faith and not fear, so we trust him even when the report looks bad.
