How To Have A “Mary” Christmas

Luke 1:26 Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, 27 to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. 28 And having come in, the angel said to her, “Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!” 29 But when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and considered what manner of greeting this was. 30 Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.

• 01. Have The Right Perception Of Yourself 

Because of Jesus Christ, you are highly favored.

Ephesians 1:6 accepted in the Beloved.

accepted = highly favored

Because you have received Jesus who is God’s Beloved, you are found in Him so you are God’s beloved son or daughter, deeply loved and highly favored by Him!

Luke 1:31 And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name Jesus. 32 He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. 33 And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.”

God Always Works Through People

Luke 1:34 Then Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I do not know a man?”35 And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God. 36 Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren. 37 For with God nothing will be impossible.” 37 For with God nothing will be impossible.” 

nothing = no declaration from God’s mouth. 

Luke 1:37 (AMPC) For with God nothing is ever impossible and no word from God shall be without power or impossible of fulfillment.

• 03 Understand The Power In God’s Words

Everything God says in His word has the possibility and power of fulfillment

For God’s power to be released God’s declaration has to be accepted!

Luke 1:38 Then Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.

Luke 1:39 Now Mary arose in those days and went into the hill country with haste, to a city of Judah, 40 and entered the house of Zacharias and greeted Elizabeth. 41 And it happened, when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, that the babe leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. 42 Then she spoke out with a loud voice and said, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb! 

Luke 1:45 Blessed is she who believed, for there will be a fulfillment of those things which were told her from the Lord.”

What God says is fulfilled when we believe it!

The root of fear is unbelief

2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

John 8:12 Once more Jesus addressed the crowd. He said, “I am the Light of the world. He who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.”

• #2 TURN off the noise

Philippians 4:8 Finally, believers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable and worthy of respect, whatever is right and confirmed by God’s word, whatever is pure and wholesome, whatever is lovely and brings peace, whatever is admirable and of good repute; if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think continually on these things [center your mind on them, and implant them in your heart].

Romans 12:2 do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

• #4 TURN back time

I John 4:18 (AMP) There is no fear in love [dread does not exist], but full-grown (complete, perfect) love turns fear out of doors and expels every trace of terror! For fear brings with it the thought of punishment, and [so] he who is afraid has not reached the full maturity of love [is not yet grown into love’s complete perfection].

Faith does not cast out fear LOVE does!

If you have a fruit problem you have a root problem.  

Some of the deepest wounds in our lives often come from rejection.  

The enemy of your life works in isolation

Because our greatest desire is love, our greatest fear is rejection.

We’re All Born with a Rejected Conscience

I Have Been Accepted By God Through Jesus

If we are going to win against the fruit of rejection, we have to be rooted in our acceptance in Jesus.

Quit chasing approval and start living from it!

As a Christian we are not living for approval, we are living from approval.

Hebrews 12:2 

Jesus’ eyes weren’t fixed on His rejection, they were fixed on you!

Fix your eyes on Jesus!
