One good thing though: the pitching overall has been solid.

Not the best of starts to the 2021 New York Yankees Season. While it's too soon to write them off regarding the 162 game season, it's fair to question what this team has actually done to improve themselves from last year's blunders, which cost them in the postseason.

The Rangers continue to blow leads late in games; they are able to snag two points in the first one by winning in OT, but lose the second in a shootout. It’s the same inconsistencies that have plagued this team.

Some things don’t change as the Rangers continue their mastery against Philly in the first game with an 8-3 victory as Mika goes off for another 6 points, including another natural hat trick; Adam Fox gets 5 assists as well. In the meantime, Igor Shesterkin makes his return in net and looks like he didn’t skip a beat; he gives the Rangers a chance to win the second game but yet again, they lose the game late and come away empty handed as the Flyers win 2-1. Good and bad trends continuing it seems...

As much as it pains me to say this...the Islanders are firing on all cylinders. Barry Trotz continues to show why he is one of the best head coaches in the league and the playoffs seem like a near certainty, even though it won’t be easy to replace their captain Anders Lee. I sit down with my good friend and die-hard Islander fan Matt to discuss the team's season thus far and we also get into some Ranger talk. It's a longer episode than usual, but it's a good one.
