God is sufficient to meet our needs. Period. Paul reminds us in 2 Corinthians 12:9, "He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.'"

Sin can destroy us. The distractions and the temptations of this world cause us to suffer. Remember the world will not give you an inch. John 3:20-21 reminds us, "Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of God."

Occasionally we have setbacks in life. Those setbacks are simply the price we pay for taking risks and following our dreams...and we suffer when those are not rooted in God. 1 Chronicles 12:18 offers encouragement, saying, "Success, success to you, and success to those who help you, for your God will help you."

God doesn't intend for us to stand still, He wants us to keep moving and growing in Him. 2 Peter 3:18 reminds us, "Grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be glory both now and forever! Amen."

Why is it that it is much easier for us to criticize others than correct ourselves? James reminds us in James 4:11, "Brothers and sisters, do not slander one another. Anyone who speaks against a brother or sister or judges them speaks against the law and judges it. When you judge the law, you are not keeping it, but sitting in judgement on it."

David appears to have used God as his listening ear to vent. Join us as we study these Psalms and how we should respond in a world where people cause us pain. 

There are many things that can be evidence of a righteous life, but to follow in the footsteps of Christ, we must live according to His commandments. Psalm 86:11 says, "Teach me your way, O Lord, that I may rely on Your faithfulness."

It takes courage to stand up for our beliefs, but it takes character to live according to those same beliefs. For us to be successful, we must match our actions to the beliefs we hold. James 1:22 instructs us, "Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what is says."

For us to be successful, we must find ourselves in the right places with the right friends. Whom are we trying to please daily? God, or others? We are reminded in Proverbs 13:20 to "walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm."

If you want to properly build your character, you must first get to know God. We can do this through worship, praise, Bible Study, prayer, and more. In Ephesians 1:17, Paul reminds us, "I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know Him better."
