Lawmakers failed to override the governor’s veto of a decades-long fight for a pensions bill after a joint session convened Tuesday afternoon.

A wildfire off C Street and W. 100th Avenue has been reported, according to the Anchorage Fire Department.

One man was killed in an officer-involved shooting early Tuesday morning that closed down roads in an east Anchorage neighborhood, according to police.
