Listener, KZMU News is still on summer break, returning mid-August with fresh, local grassroots community-powered journalism. While we’re away, we wanted to highlight some of the great public affairs shows produced locally at your community radio station.
Right now we have five active shows – This Week in Moab, Radio Book Club, Thought for Food, Great Wide Open, and Art Talks. We’ll feature all of them this week during the news.
We start with our longest standing program, This Week in Moab. Hosts Howard Trenholme (2nd Mondays at 5pm) and Christy Williams-Dunton (3rd Mondays at 5pm) discuss many topics with their guests, from local and regional civics issues, to community resources, and the environment.
Today we’ll hear a May 2020 interview with Sarah Fields of Uranium Watch. She updated Williams-Dunton about the White Mesa Uranium Mill in San Juan County, whose operator is applying to accept material from an Estonian rare earth production plant.
