Gary shares his excitement for this year’s fair. He emphasizes the family friendly environment, the delicious food, fun rides and events, and the agriculture.

Gary also highlights some of the bands and headliners coming to the fair this year and assures us that we will be entertained like we’ve never been entertained before.

If all the fun and entertainment isn’t enough, Gary also reminds us that this year’s fair is paying tribute to first responders and charity donations go to the community.

On this week’s show on WTIC News Talk 1080 at 5:30a and 9:00a, host Ann Baldwin speaks with Michelle Jefferson, Crisis Intervention Team Clinician for Community Mental Health Affiliates (CMHA). Though she works for CMHA, Michelle is headquartered at New Britain Police Department. She shares her experiences riding alongside officers to mental health crisis’, and what her role is before, during and after a situation. 

Michelle also plays a valuable role in the community as a mental health advocate. Through that she was able to speak about the importance of being proactive as opposed to reactive in crisis situations and even guides us through some mindful meditation to alleviate stress.

On this week’s program, hosts Ann Baldwin and Lisa DeMatteis-Lepore speak with Gian-Carl Casa, President & CEO of the Connecticut Non-Profit Alliance. Gian-Carl serves as a strong and persistent voice representing mission-driven nonprofit organizations across the state of Connecticut. On this episode, Gian-Carl talks about the needs of non-profits post COVID-19 and the importance of state funds and legislative changes for these organizations. Gian-Carl also talks about the value of getting to know the non-profits in your community and how getting connected with them can be mutually beneficial.

Gail talks about the Klingberg Vintage Motorcar Event coming up this Father’s Day weekend. For 29 years, this event has provided an opportunity to see rare, historic, antique cars and give back through programs that help children and families. On Saturday, June 19th, Klingberg will hold a safe alternative to their usual car show. There will be show cars placed around Klingberg’s 40-acre campus and spectators will drive along a pre-determined 20-minute route.
