    John's program this week is with Vikki Armstrong, a guest in a prior year, but with a very contemporary message. She had the unique role as a British pentathlete going into the 1980 Olympics. Her team boycotted those Games due to the Russian invasion of Afghanistan. Later she became a member of the US Pentathlon team, but was again disappointed by another boycott. They talk over the nature of the pentathlon, competition , the Olympics and her later life.

    • Cubs had Thursday off, will be in Kansas City tonight at 8:10.
    • San Diego's Dylan Cease, formerly of the White Sox and South Bend Cubs throws a no-hitter.
    • Michigan headlines Big Ten media day on Thursday as well as CFP opponent Washington.  New Michigan head coach Sherrone Moore says expectations have not changed for Wolverines.
    • Hulkamania reigns down at Lions Training Camp in Allen Park.  Hulk Hogan says Lions coach Dan Campbell missed his calling as a wrestler.
    • Bears safety Jonathon Owens takes leave from Bears camp to be with wife Simone Biles at Paris Olympics.
