John's guest this week is former US Congressman Fred Upton, from the Southwesternmost District of Michigan. They discuss Upton's participation in Congress for the past 36 years and his new volunteer work in No Labels, an organization aimed at working on a bipartisan basis to work for practical solutions to national problems. Especially they talk over that organization's movement for a possible 3rd Party nomination for President of the United States in 2024.

Duke is a big teddy bear! He wants to be your best buddy, but doesn't quite realize how strong he is. Duke is about 1 year old. He loves to play with anyone who will share a toy with him and would be a wonderful couch buddy. Being part Rottweiler, Duke could use some training. The WSJM Sports Player of the Week is Jakob Diamond of St. Joseph boys basketball.  

St. Joe went 2-0 during the week with the Bears coming back from a 12 point deficit to beat Gull Lake 54-53, and then the Bears beat Mattawan 66-61.

Jakob had 11 points in the win over Gull Lake and 20 points in the win at Mattawan.

He's also a member of the St. Joseph High School Orchestra and has a 3.963 GPA.

Earlier this week we had to sit down with Jakob and head coach Gregg Schaffer.
