Prioritizing your health and wellness journey starts NOW! I will be the first to admit I didn't always do good with this, but over the years I've definitely improved and I am sharing my tips with you as well as reasons why now is the time to prioritize ones health. In today's world, there are unlimited amounts of alternative therapy practices to support your health and wellness, and incorporating these into your life can sometimes feel like you are putting a puzzle together, because let's be honest...life gets busy!! I share ways I have incorporated my own health/healing modalities into my own life. I am beyond excited to share episode 20 with you all! In this collab I bring on Kaitlyn Junk, owner of Remedy Wellness, which is a holistic healthcare and wellness center. What I find fascinating about homeopathy is that it was one of the first true modalities of healthcare and existed FAR before all of the hospitals, clinics, and pharmaceuticals we have today. In this episode, Kaitlyn explains her role as a homeopathic practitioner and all the services that she offers besides just homeopathic consultations (emotion code therapy, infrared sauna, ionic foot baths, and an infrared sound bed). We discuss the concept of homeopathy, its focus on treating symptoms as well as the root cause, and its lack of recognition in the US healthcare system. In this episode I discuss the importance of listening to the "nudges" or hints from a higher power (whatever you believe in). I share a recent experience that I had during a Reiki session where I realized that my spirit guides were nudging me to use my voice and speak out on 2 different occasions in the last 10 years. I really emphasize the significance of paying attention to these nudges and then taking action. In doing so, you are more likely to live a life that is more aligned and authentic. I encourage listeners to trust in the higher power and respond to the signs they receive. Ultimately we are spiritual beings having an earthly experience, so these nudges are more powerful than we often realize. If this episode and my personal story intrigues you, I encourage you to give Reiki a try (if you haven't experienced it in your own life yet) because it can be transformational for many people!

In episode 18, I do a collab with the amazing Natalie Welch!! Natalie is a registered dietitian, nutritionist, and health coach (she literally wears all the hats!) who specializes in working with moms during both the prenatal and postpartum periods. We dive deep into so many interesting topics! We discuss the concept of Matrescence (a new concept for me) which is the transition into motherhood. Natalie highlights the lack of education and support for women during this transition and emphasizes the importance of holistic preparation for motherhood as well. We discuss the need for comprehensive care that includes mental health therapy, nutrition support, physical therapy/pelvic floor PT, etc. Natalie mentions the importance of nutrition and self-care during the preconception and postpartum periods. Natalie also shares a lot of information on 2 programs that she offers: Renewed Mama (which focuses on postpartum nutrition and recovery) and Postpartum Prep for Moms (which prepares expectant mothers for the postpartum period). Episode 17 is all about the topic of mindset and how it has transformed my life in various areas, from my fertility journey to starting my own business, even in my marriage and with my health. I really emphasize the importance of rewriting our limiting beliefs that we all hold and instead choosing positive thoughts to ultimately create a more empowering mindset, and fulfilling life. I also share several authors and podcasters that have heavily influenced my mindset work. I want listeners to know that they have the power to take control of their thoughts and rewrite the stories in their head to be more positive versus the other way around, letting ones thoughts control you and your mindset/life. It is a choice, you can choose to take control!

In episode 16, I bring on Andrea Pitts, who is an integrative health practitioner who specializes in women's health, fertility, and hormone balance. I share a little bit around my own personal experience when I worked with Andrea in my fertility journey and how it transformed my health. Andrea's approach focuses primarily on getting to the root cause of your health issues and using natural methods to rebalance hormones and support fertility if that's the journey of life you are in. Andrea offers a variety of functional medicine lab tests to tailor treatment plans to each client's specific needs and she touches on that in the episode. She also emphasizes the importance of preparing the body before pregnancy to promote having a more positive birth experience. Andrea encourages women to trust their intuition and advocate for their own health. When working with women, Andrea may address gut imbalances, toxicities, and deficiencies, and though this process with her may be slow over time, the idea is to achieve long-lasting results for a better overall health. Andrea doesn't just look at your physical health but she also highlights the significance of healing the mental and emotional part of your body as well. Lastly, she encourages women to start cleaning up their environment by gradually swapping out toxic products for cleaner, non-toxic alternatives. Andrea has hopes in the future of potentially getting more into birth work and being able to teach moms how to have more positive birth experiences in order to set their babies up for success.

Episode 12 was such a fun, authentic, and lighthearted conversation between Megan Gross and myself. We covered so many amazing topics in our time together! Megan Gross is a nurse midwife out of the Dubuque, Iowa area who has owned her own private practice since 2018. Though she is now taking a leave from practicing and from her business, she is still a wealth of knowledge in the area of midwifery, integrative/holistic health, and work-life balance. Megan first explained the differences between being a midwife and being a doula. Megan shared her journey to becoming a midwife and what drove her passion for supporting women in their postpartum journey. Megan dives into the topic of balancing hormones naturally, the impact of stress on our hormones, the importance of sleep & sunlight, and avoiding toxins in the home. This conversation was very timely due to the fact that Megan is now taking a leave from her business as a midwife, because topics like boundaries, prioritizing one's health, and work-life balance are all on the forefront of Megan's mind these days. You also got a treat in this episode, because unknown to me, Megan is extremely knowledgeable on the topic of Human Design!
