Hey family, we are in the second week of our Advent series, as we approach the beautiful day of Christmas 2020. We are so grateful that God sent his Son, that he might save everyone who seeks him. This week we’ll reflect on Christmas and how some people turn away from the beauty and the wonder of the incarnation, while others embrace it wholeheartedly.

As you know, we are observing safe social distancing, taking temperatures, handing out masks, and in general making sure that attending church is not just an uplifting experience but a healthy one as well. Hey Family, we have never needed hope more than we need it in this season. For many of us, 2020 has been a year of loss, pain, disappointment, and confusion. It's into this world that the infant Christ is born--and he offers himself as a consolation to all our hurts. Come this Sunday as we celebrate Communion as a church family and talk about the baby Jesus, who would give us hope even in a year like 2020. --Edwin

Hey Family:

Wow, we were blessed by the number of people who came to us for Thanksgiving yesterday! Our volunteers handed out almost 400 plates of food--turkey, stuffing, pie and much more--to a long, long line of grateful recipients. God was watching over us all. We have been in a series that has reminded us about those times when life happens when the unexpected causes a pause between a promise made and a promise fulfilled. In The Land Between, we have learned that in those times, a response is needed. This week join us as we close out the series and learn the last thing that should influence our response.

Hey Family:

When problems come, when things get hard, when we fail or fall, the urge to isolate can be so strong. This, on top of a culture that tells us to always focus on ourselves, can often lead us into more trouble.

God’s heart is that we not face life's difficulties alone but instead lean into and pursue community. Join us Sunday as we continue our series The Land Between: Finding God in Difficult Transitions and learn together about the need for and the blessing of community.

Hey Family, we've been learning how to navigate the place we call The Land Between. That confusing place between where we were and where we hope to be. This Sunday Pastor Gus will talk about how our emotions may cloud our worship, causing us to forget how God provides for us in the land between our old life and our new. Join us this Sunday as we look at an emotion that can paralyze us and how we can overcome it.

Hey Family: In the midst of a divided country, fears about finances and health, trouble in relationships and at work, how can we find peace? As we continue our series The Land Between: Finding Hope in Difficult Transitions, we come back to Numbers 11:1-17. Together, we'll see that if we're going to learn deeply valuable lessons in the here and now, we need to come back to our senses. So this week we'll learn that in trouble and waiting, God often wants to re-orient and refine our hearing.
