49ers rumors today focus on the details behind what the 49ers offered to the Jacksonville Jaguars for cornerback Jalen Ramsey. The 49ers were one of a few teams to offer at least a first round pick plus an additional pick. However, the Jaguars are looking for two first round picks so the 49ers are no longer in the running.

The 49ers have been solid at cornerback with Akhello Witherspoon and Richard Sherman this season. However, Jalen Ramsey is arguably the best corner in the league. It is no surprise that the 49ers would at least make an offer and see what could happen. The price tag of two first round picks is just too much for the 49ers to comfortably pull the trigger on a Ramsey trade.

Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger will miss the remainder of 2019 with an elbow injury that will require surgery. Big Ben is 37 years-old and left Sunday’s 28-26 loss to the Seattle Seahawks in the 2nd quarter and was unable to return. Roethlisberger was replaced by 2018 3rd round pick Mason Rudolph. Rudolph is now likely to be the Steelers’ starter for the remainder of the 2019 season. The Steelers rumors buzzing now are around whether or not this injury will end Ben Roethlisberger’s career.

San Francisco 49ers Grades from their 41-17 win over the Cincinnati Bengals includes all three phases of the game, as well as player grades for Jimmy Garoppolo, Raheem Mostert, Deebo Samuel, Kwon Alexander & K’Waun Williams. Jimmy Garoppolo looked solid as he threw for 297 yards and 3 touchdowns. He looked much more comfortable than he did last week & the 49ers won big. The 49ers’ WR corps also looked a lot better than last week. The most notable WR was 1st round pick Deebo Samuel, who hauled in 5 catches for 87 yards & his first-ever NFL regular season touchdown. Marquise Goodwin also contributed with 3 catches for 77 yards and a touchdown of his own.

The biggest storyline from the 49ers’ week 2 win has to be the Niners rushing attack, which looked great without 2 of their top 3 running backs. Matt Breida had 12 carries for 121 yards, but the player who surprised a lot of people is Raheem Mostert. He had 13 rushes for 83 yards while adding 3 catches for 68 yards and a TD in the air.

On the defensive side of things, the 49ers’ defense looked solid, once again. Andy Dalton threw for 311 yards and 2 TDs, but he was sacked 4 times & picked off once by Kwon Alexander, who was all over the place. He registered 7 tackles, 3 pass deflections & an INT on the day. One 49er who didn’t look all that great is K’Waun Williams. He is struggling in pass coverage & was burnt by John Ross on a seam route.

On special teams, Robbie Gould made 2 of 3 field goals. However, it was penalties & injuries that became costly for the 49ers vs. Bengals. The 49ers lost LT Joe Staley to a broken fibula & he is expected to miss 6-8 weeks. He is not expected to be placed on the IR. The 49ers will need to be more consistent getting called for flags. They were called for 9 penalties worth 75 yards, which is not a good sign. Luckily, it didn’t mean much in this one as the 49ers won big 41-17.

49ers vs. Bengals highlights from San Francisco’s 41-17 win over the Cincinnati Bengals. It’s week 2 of the 2019 NFL Regular season and Jimmy G and co. breezed by Cincinnati in Paul Brown Stadium. The 49ers improve to 2-0 on the season with back-to-back road wins for the first time since 1989.

Jimmy Garopppolo was 17 of 25 for 297 yards, 3 touchdowns and only 1 interception for a QB rating of 131.2. Two of those touchdowns came in the first half thanks to Marquise Goodwin and Raheem Mosert. And Deebo Samuel got in on the action with a short 2-yard touchdown-- his first touchdown in the NFL. Matt Breida held things down on the ground, with 121 yards and an average of 12.1 yards per carry.

The 49ers did receive some bad news, however, losing star OL Joe Staley in the third quarter. He was able to walk off the field before getting carted into the locker room. Staley was not able to return to the game, leaving rookie Justin Skule to protect Jimmy Garoppolo’s blind side. With Staley out 8 weeks due to a broken fibula, Skule will start in the 49ers home opener against the Steelers-- their first ever trip to Levi Stadium.

The New York Giants kicked off their 2019 NFL season with a 35-17 loss vs. their division rival, the Dallas Cowboys. It was an ugly day for Giants’ QB Eli Manning. He threw for 300 yards & 1 TD, but a lot of those yards came in garbage time in the 4th quarter. Backup QB Daniel Jones came in to relieve Eli Manning of his duties late in the game, so is that a sign that Daniel Jones could replace Eli at some point in 2019? It seems as if Giants fans are ready to move on from Manning & roll with Jones as the leader of the offense.
