The NHS, through its Genomics Education Programme, has published guidance stating that while first-cousin marriage is linked to a slightly increased risk of children being born with genetic conditions or congenital anomalies, this risk is comparable to other factors like parental age, smoking, and alcohol use, none of which are banned in the UK!!!!
