This episode is with Jake Faircloth. Jake is one half of the twin cities based hip-hop podcast The Wisemen Show. This episode is very special to me. Not only is The Wisemen Show very influential to me (I've been a fan of them for years) but Jake opens up and shares some very personal things with me. In this episode we discuss his origins with music/podcasting, favorites in the local scene, hardships, anxiety, and very personal stories. This episode is a prime example of why I wanted to do this podcast to begin with and is truly special to me.
In this episode I'm joined by my friend Kevin Loesch AKA Kev Loe. Kevin is a podcaster, musician, music biz wiz, and operations manager/promoter for CLM (Cato Live Music) Presents. In this episode we talk about the national/local hip-hop scene, the setbacks of 2020, and the music industry as a whole.
This episode is featuring my multi-talented friend Ryan Hayes AKA DJ Hayes. Hayes is a multi-instrumentalist, producer, emcee, and DJ. This episode was recorded in late December of 2020. In this episode we talk about everything from his artistry, being a DJ for Nur-D, struggles/triumphs of 2020. and the work that he's done with Justice Frontline Aid.
To check out the latest albums Hayes has been a part of as a recording/mix engineer, check out the albums "38th" as well as "Chicago Avenue" by Nur-D.
This episode of Nice Minds is featuring my friend Keny Grey. Keny Grey is an amazing singer/songwriter and recording engineer out of Minnesota. He recently made the leap to being a full time musician. This episode was recorded in December of 2020 and since recording this episode, Keny Grey has released new music and has had several Tik Tok videos go viral. Listen to this episode as we talk about his journey and be sure to check out his music on all streaming platforms. Also be sure to follow @KenyGrey on all social media platforms and visit www.KenyGrey.com as well.
This episode is featuring my friend LP of The Eargasm w/LP. LP is an extremely talented emcee located in the twin cities. Through LP’s brand “The Eargasm” she does music reviews, live streams, artist interviews, and more.
This episode is featuring my friend Chance York. He's a twin cities hip-hop scene veteran. As the frontman for the bands Parallax and Crunchy Kids, and a solo artist, he's a well accomplished musician. He is a yoga and meditation aficionado and a wellness coach with his brand Chance Connected Wellness Coaching. He does one on one coaching calls with people and I decided to try one with him as well as do an episode for Nice Minds! If you are looking for a mentor and personal coach, please consider hiring Chance.
The first episode of Nice Minds, I just had to feature my friend Brandon Scott Jacobson AKA Severed Tongues. I have collaborated with him on many songs, partnered with him on several endeavors over the last couple years ( including a sample pack for producer company: YeahDudeSamples.com ) and he is a person I developed the idea of this podcast with. He is a gifted bassist, guitarist, and an all around musical beast.
I have spent 18 years in the Minnesota music/hip-hop scene as a rapper, producer, recording engineer, label owner, concert booker/promoter, and content maker. I have met so many incredible creatives along the way and I want to interview them to share their stories.
2.) Have conversations with people who have found success to try to figure out what types of habits, techniques, mind state, and positive things they’ve done to help them achieve their goals.
For the introduction episode, I thought would be appropriate if I started at the beginning and told my whole journey with music and Nice Guy Entertainment leading into why I wanted to do this.
