Nigerian Muslims killed 50 Christians

Last Thursday, Fulani Muslim herdsmen, alongside a criminal gang, attacked a village in central Nigeria, killing at least 50 Christians.

Morning Star News noted that “Christian leaders in Nigeria have said they believe the herdsmen attacks on Christian communities in Nigeria’s Middle Belt are inspired by their desire to forcefully take over Christians’ lands and impose Islam as the growing desert has made it difficult for them to sustain their herds.”

Nigeria is the deadliest place in the world for Christians.

80% of Iranians don’t like Islamic government

An anonymous internal poll found 80% of people in Iran would prefer a democratic government to the current Islamic regime. Many are also leaving Islam.

About 50,000 of Iran’s 75,000 mosques have closed.

As Islam loses followers in Iran, many are turning to Christianity. An estimated one million Muslims have turned to Jesus.

Don Shenk, executive director of The Tide Ministrytold CBN News this is happening across the Muslim world.

SHENK: “We get responses from listeners who say, now I understand that God loves me. I always thought that God wanted to punish me. There's an awakening that's taking place across the Muslim world.”

Micah 4:2 says, “Many nations shall come and say, ‘Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; He will teach us His ways, and we shall walk in His paths.’”

More Americans die of preventable deaths than Australia

A new study published in the BMJ Open Journal found life expectancy has increased in English-speaking countries since 1990.

The United States had the lowest life expectancy with 76.5 years for men and 81.5 years for women. Australia had the highest life expectancy, leading the U.S. by about five years for men and four years for women.

Professor Jessica Ho was a senior researcher for the study. She said of America, “Our younger people die at higher rates from largely preventable causes of death, like drug overdose, car accidents and homicide.”

Inflation is slowing

Yesterday, the U.S. Labor Department reported inflation is slowing.

Consumer prices rose just 0.2% from June to July. Year over year, prices rose 2.9% in July, down from 3% in June.

Most of the inflation was due to rising housing costs like rental prices.

Economists expect the Federal Reserve will begin cutting interest rates in September if inflation continues to slow.

Donald Trump debates Kamala Harris on September 10

ANNOUNCER: “Ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to the main event. Let’s get ready to rumble!”

On September 10th, Donald Trump will debate Kamala Harris on ABC.

Leading up to the November 5th presidential election, the former president said he wants to debate the vice president several more times on other outlets as well.

The latest poll average from Real Clear Politics has Trump and Kamala neck and neck with Kamala holding a 1.1% lead.

Seven states considering pro-abortion amendments on ballot

Voters will not only be choosing a new president in November, they’ll also be considering abortion amendments in multiple states.

This week, Arizona and Missouri announced they will have amendments on the ballot to make killing unborn babies a constitutional right.

Other states that will have abortion amendments on the ballot include Colorado, Florida, Maryland, Nevada, and South Dakota. Multiple states have already passed such amendments like California, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Montana, Ohio, and Vermont.

Bible translated for Wayuu people in Columbia

And finally, the Bible Society of Colombia recently presented its first complete Bible in the Wayuunaiki language. The translation work took about 13 years.

The Wayuu people are one of Colombia’s largest indigenous people groups, numbering about 400,000. Five hundred representatives of the community attended the Bible presentation.

Alexander Gómez with the Colombian Bible Society said, “It is a great satisfaction for us because we are aware that there are going to be transformations at a personal, community and socio-cultural level. The Wayuu brothers and sisters who hear the word of God in the language of their heart will be left with the love of God.”

Isaiah 52:7 says, “How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who proclaims peace, who brings glad tidings of good things, who proclaims salvation, who says to Zion, ‘Your God reigns!’”
