Around the world more and more people are taking an interested in plant-based diets and a vegan lifestyle, but in meat-loving South Africa the idea of ditching meat might sound like an unrealistic idea. The thing is that most of the media talking about vegan diets is either focusing on the reasons that someone might want to eat less meat - like health, environmental and ethical concerns - or focusing on niche health issues and products. Judging by the queries we get, and the responses we see to messaging like this, what the public wants to know more about is the how - especially how to start out, and perhaps most importantly, how to make sure they're going to enjoy the food!
One area of 'how' that has been getting media attention is meat replacements; but again the focus of this coverage has been on why there has been such a huge increase in availability and interest in these products - with much less information on what they are, which ones actually taste nice, and where South Africans can get hold of them.

A video of Nigerians evicting South Africans out has been doing rounds on Twitter, this did not sit well with a lot if people as they felt that they had no right to throw them out in the streets without giving the three months notice. According to the South African law landlords are not allowed to evict their tenants until a period of three months’ notice is over.
A lot if people had a lot to say about the video as they felt that even though the property belongs to those Nigerians they were abusing their power as landlords. The video was share by a twitter user Lerato Pillay who us well known for standing for the rights of South Africans. She took it to her twitter account and wrote:
“Very disturbing new, Nigerians are currently evicting South African Citizens in Kempton Park, they came with their private Army caring guns and wearing battle jackets”.

According to a recently released report by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and its network of partners, the Covid-19-related economic slowdown failed to put the brakes on climate change drivers and accelerating impacts.
The report, State of the Global Climate 2020, documents indicators of the climate system, including greenhouse gas concentrations, increasing land and ocean temperatures, sea level rise, melting ice and glacier retreat and extreme weather.
