President Cyril Ramaphosa told Parliament that employers had to strike a "delicate balance" when implementing mandatory vaccination programmes, but said every South African had a personal responsibility to ensure the safety of others in the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

Ramaphosa was replying orally to questions in a hybrid plenary of the National Assembly on Friday. The president mentioned the competing interest of the individual right to accept or refuse a vaccine against the responsibility of employers to prevent the spread of the virus in their operations.

For those not in the know, “revenge porn” refers to the sharing or distribution of any nude or sexually explicit material of someone without their permission or consent with the express purpose of humiliating or “getting back” at them. Victims may now lay criminal charges against anyone who distributes or shares this material on social media, in text messages, via any electronic communication or on pornographic websites.

Anyone who breaks the revenge porn laws in South Africa and is found guilty of sharing or distributing revenge porn will face time behind bars or will be fined. If the victim can’t be identified in the content, the perpetrator could face two years in jail and/or pay a fine of up to R150 000. However, if the victim can be identified in any way, the perpetrator could spend four years in prison and/or pay up to R300 000.

The Afrikaners are a South African ethnic group who are descended from 17th century Dutch, German, and French settlers to South Africa. The Afrikaners slowly developed their own language and culture when they came into contact with Africans and Asians. The word “Afrikaners” means “Africans” in Dutch. About 4 million people out of South Africa’s total population of 56.5 million (2017 figures from Statistics South Africa) are White, though it's unknown if all identify themselves as Afrikaners. Why Being Accountable is Important?

Nothing in life can be carried out to the fullest without accountability! It is the one ingredient to this process that glues all these steps together in order to make a new you come to fruition. Accountability means living in integrity, with all your thoughts, words, and actions are consistent with one another and in alignment.  Commitment is one thing, but accountability is vital to sustaining long-term success and mastering your Inner Critic. When one is accountable, he or she accepts responsibility for his or her actions and the results of his or her choices in life. Your actions always have consequences, whether good or bad. It is your choice to make sure your thoughts, words, and actions are working synergistically together in a positive way to manifest the results you desire to create with yourself.  The key is taking ownership for your part in the process, being accountable for what you can control, and accepting what you cannot.

The Southern African Faith Communities’ Environment Institute (SAFCEI) and Earthlife Africa Johannesburg – the two civil society organisations who took the South African government to court over its illegal and unconstitutional R1-trillion nuclear deal with Russia in 2017 – are concerned at the new push by the Department of Minister Resources and Energy (DMRE) for more nuclear energy, while stifling progress on renewable energy projects.

SAFCEI’s Executive Director Francesca de Gasparis says, “DMRE’s seems single-minded on touting nuclear energy as the solution to our energy crisis. In the past two weeks alone, we heard of three disturbing developments. First, there is the news that the National Energy Regulator (Nersa) will concur with the Minister’s Determination – section 34 of the Electricity Regulation Act, 2006 (Act No. 4 of 2006) – to start procurement processes for 2,500MW of new nuclear energy generation capacity. Secondly, Eskom is seeking a site license for Thyspunt, the popular tourism spot of Cape of St Francis, to become a nuclear power station from the National Nuclear Regulator (NNR).”
