From Tim Samaras, the most respected name in tornado research, killed by the El Reno tornado in 2013 one of the widest and most violent tornadoes ever recorded, officially rated far below what it actually was. To the fatal 2017 crash that killed Storm Wranglers stars Kelley Williamson and Randy Yarnall, along with storm spotter Corbin Jaeger, in a collision that had nothing to do with the storm at all. To two Air Force and Navy reconnaissance crews, Typhoon Goon II in 1952 and Snowcloud 5 in 195, swallowed whole by a typhoon and a hurricane, their wreckage has never been found to this day.
