On October 5th, a crowd of people staged a "street takeover" in Randolph MA, and 17 people were charged. Footage from a police dash camera show the vehicle being swarmed and fireworks being fired off. Dan suggests a $10,000 bail, and require parents to show up. Most of those involved weren't from Randolph, and so have no ties to the community. What do you think should happen to people who block streets, and effectively block emergency vehicles?

There is a potential ballot question being petitioned right now that aims to ask MA voters if they are in favor of a gradual personal income tax reduction that would lower the rate from 5% to 4%. As a Massachusetts voter, would you support or oppose lowering the state's personal income tax? Last September, Artie T. Demoulas, the former CEO of New England grocery chain Market Basket, was ousted from the company. Following the firing, the company’s board filed a lawsuit to uphold its decision to which Artie countersued. Artie’s firing stemmed from a claimed resistance to board oversight, failure to include his three sisters and their families from business decisions and for planning an alleged work stoppage. A Delaware court ruled Monday that the company’s firing of Artie T. is “valid.” Has Market Basket and its culture changed at all since Artie was ousted? What does this court ruling signify? Sweet Cheeks Bakery in Amesbury, MA is a local bakery known for their cookies. To help kids learn about running a business, owner Renee Terry introduced the “Mini Manager” program that allows kids to experience firsthand what it looks like to run a business. The program received lots of positive feedback from kids, parents, and the community so that’s why it came as a surprise to Renee when she received a letter from the Attorney General’s office stating they received a complaint alleging she was violating MA Child Labor Laws. Renee joined us to discuss her business, the Mini Manager program and the AG’s letter.

The Strait of Hormuz was opened Friday following a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon. “The passage for all commercial vessels through Strait of Hormuz is declared completely open,” said Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. In response to the news, the price of oil quickly plummeted by more than 10 percent, to less than $89 per barrel. President Trump said he expects a deal with Iran soon and that peace talks could resume this weekend. We discussed this good news and any new developments that emerge out of the Middle East.
