Experts predicted last fall that this year’s flu season would be especially bad. So far, those predictions have been right on the money. To top it off, some projections have estimated that this year’s version of the flu shot could be merely ten percent effective in warding off the disease. For the first time ever, the CDC has officially declared that the flu is “widespread” in every single continental U.S. state. Earlier this week in Texas, an entire school district shut down due to flu concerns. So why is this year such a tough year for the flu?
