Question - When I was dating my husband, hashkafically, we were on the same page. He made time to go to minyan and made time for learning. Now that we have started our life together, married, it seems to be like he isn’t as serious as he was when we were dating. He has not made learning a priority and misses minyan and ends up davening at work, home, or school. I’m not sure how to approach this. What does the Rav think?

The Medrash tells us that when Avraham Avinu was traveling to Eretz Canaan he saw a land where people were pruning and plowing. He davened to Hashem that this would be the land where he would settle and was answered in the affirmative. What was it about the agricultural nature of the land that was so inspiring to Avraham Avinu?

The notion of God revealing Himself may at first seem strange. But as we consider the very purpose of the universe we come to realize that revelation should be an expectation.

Avraham Avinu builds three Mizbeachs. Rashi tells us that the first is to give thanks to God for promising him that he would have children and the Land of Israel. The second is to atone for the future sins of his descendants. However the last Mizbeach is a mystery, Rashi does not tell us why Avraham built a Mizbeach.
In this shiur, based on a sicha from the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rav Burg explains the three stages of love. Love because. Love despite. Love for no reason at all.
