Michael Harrison joined Todd for the first hour, as he does every Friday, and we discussed the President's decision to capitulate and make a deal to end the border showdown, the arrest of Roger Stone, as well as the effect that the development of Artificial Intelligence is already having on the human experience.

New legislation, such as tolls, mandatory climate change education in public schools, and a ban on helium balloons are part of a slew of proposals from the new Democratic majority in Hartford. For some reason though, there has not been a word about cuts in spending... despite the ongoing debt crisis.

State Senator Rob Sampson calls in after a busy day in Hartford to talk with Todd about things happening there as the new session moves along. We discuss issues like tolls and the state's budget problems, as well as how the new governor might balance the budget.

Todd is joined by J.R. Romano, Chair of the CT GOP, to discuss the legislation filed already by Democrats that would bring tolls back to Connecticut. JR encourages people to get active in resistence to tolls and attending town hall meetings being held this week by the new Democratic state senator from Greenwich, Alex Bergstein, who sponsored the toll legislation. Todd talks with Marc Fitch from the Yankee Institute about how the new, even more left-leaning Connecticut government is already seeking to move tolls along and make them law. What's most interesting about the toll legislation, which was introduced today by a freshman lawmaker, is that it calls for tolls on all vehicles, not just trucks... despite promises from Gov. Lamont that he was laser-focused on trucks only.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of financing a "Green New Deal" by raising the tax rate on high earners to 70%. Jeff lays out the truth about high taxes done by big government.

Todd talks with Av Harris, the policy director for the City of Bridgeport, about Gov. Ned Lamont's inaugural address. Av admits that left out of the governor's remarks is the challenge presented by the SEBAC agreement, and discusses potential workarounds for the no-layoff clause given to state workers.
