Network Health President & CEO, Coreen Dicus-Johnson joins the show to talk about the cost of prescription drugs. The costs have been pricier than usual and there are new changes for those utilizing Medicare. Currently about 1.3 million Wisconsinites are enrolled in Medicare. Dicus-Johnson explains what we should know about these changes as we approached insurance enrollment season, the difference between Medicare Advantage and Medicare and what changes will affect all health plan organizations.

Research fellow at the Lubar Center for Public Policy Research and Civic Education at Marquette, John Johnson, joins Spanning the State to talk to how our shifting economy has impacted homeowners and homebuyers. Johnson explains how the housing market has changed drastically from 2020 to 2024, why it’s so hard to buy a home now, if renting is better than owning, the likelihood of houses getting cheaper and if people still want to own a home.

Wisconsin is expected to have a huge influx of election observes during this election. This is more crucial to Wisconsin voters as this is a major battleground state. The Republican national Committee announced earlier this year their plans to recruit 100,000 poll watchers and observers with 5,000 dedicated to this state. On the other side the Democratic Party of Wisconsin will also issue out their poll workers. But outside of these official parties, right wing activists have been recruiting and training people to be poll workers. According to a new study Artificial Intelligence Algorithms for Understanding the Determinants of Oral Health states AI can be influential by providing predictive technology to help identify those at higher risks of losing their teeth before stepping foot in a dental office.
