  • John Belton - Training Considerations & COVID-19.
The COVID-19 Pandemic is still having an effect on our day to day routine and nothing is as it was.  There is also an uncertainty of  how long this will continue for and we are told that the best thing we can do is to do nothing and hopefully this will soon come to pass and we can try get back to some normality.
Gyms have closed along with all sporting clubs and activities which makes staying fit that bit more of a challenge.  However, most gyms and / or Personal trainers have set up online classes to help keep their clients and communities motivated and fit during these challenging times.   Worth remembering this when their doors reopen as they will need your support more than ever.
In this episode of the podcast I'm joined by John Belton from No17 Personal Training and we talk about about what you can do while you are doing nothing to keep yourself physically & mentally active.  We also share our thoughts and some simple training advice.

  • Jantastic Journey, from 10K to 100K (includes Q&A) - Part 5.
Time to pause and reflect.  Almost every major sporting event for the next few months has been cancelled or postponed because of the COVID19 pandemic, so it came as no surprise to hear the Anglo Celtic Plate wouldn't go ahead as scheduled.
In this episode Jan talks about the coping strategies she is using to help stay focused and how she is using this rescheduling as an opportunity rather than a setback.
As planned we also include a Q&A with most of the questions submitted to Jan through her Instagram account.

  • Jantastic Journey, from 10K to 100K - Part 4.

In this episode we talk a little bit more about the training  and specifically Jan's training plan and how it was pieced together.  Jan highlights the value of a training diary when trying to figure out what works best and importance of having a good athlete / coach relationship based on trust and communication.   We also include some tips for training on a treadmill.

This episode was recorded a few days before the restrictions on group training sessions were imposed and that's partly the reason why I'm publishing ahead of schedule.   I would have even posted sooner but the edit can be time consuming.
