Take a look at the media, what do you notice? Who’s there? Who’s not? And why? Often times, black women are underappreciated and quite frankly attacked. Sometimes, even from our own. In this episode, we talk with special guest Abbie about what we’ve noticed and some of our experiences with colourism, self-acceptance, and more. Ever heard the phrase “you’re pretty for a darkskin girl?”, “good hair”, or ever heard a black man say “I’m getting tired of black girls?” Yeah, we have too and we’re tired. We’re aware that we couldn’t touch on all aspects of these topics, we only have so much time.
DISCLAIMER: We are not referring to ALL black men in discussions about black women being disrespected. If you have differing opinions, by all means reach out to us. We welcome the conversation.
