  • 252 - The Growth Journey with Madelyn Dunlap

Thanks for joining me on another episode of the No Labels, No Limits podcast where I interview Madelyn Dunlap, a business development strategist.

Madelyn married her high school sweetheart at 19. He enlisted in the US Marine Corps after high school and they were married before his first deployment to Afghanistan. Being married at such a young age and supporting her husband through two combat deployments shaped how she approaches life.

As an entrepreneur, she’s growing a new business with her husband who is working to retire from the military. They've acquired 3 car washes in the last 8 months!

When asked about a personal reflection, she says, "Joy for me is a mindset. It's reminding myself that where I'm at, even if it's not where I want to be, is further than where I used to be. It's a lot of reflecting on the blessings and leaning into lessons along the way. It is a mindset that doesn't always come naturally to me, because I'm very goal-oriented and performance-focused."

The ReWild Group helps small businesses grow by understanding the transitions that organizations go through on the growth journey (called Stages). She encourages every business leader to learn what Stage of Growth their business is in: https://www.rewildgroup.com/stage-calculator.

Join me for this week's podcast episode where I interview another influential, female leader, Julie Wald. Our guest, Julie, has been a wellness practitioner for over 25 years and is the Founder, CEO and Chief Wellness Officer at Golden, a global leader in wellness education and employee self-care programs. Julie is the author of the Amazon #1 bestselling book, Inner Wealth: How Wellness Heals, Nurtures and Optimizes Ultra-Successful People. She says, "The Four Pillars of Wellness—movement, stillness, connection, and nourishment—aren't a formula or a prescription; it’s a recipe, and you can decide how much of each ingredient you want to add to live a happy, healthy life that is reflective of who you are. You can use this framework to integrate wellness practices into your life in a way that feels natural and doable for your busy schedule."

  • 249 - Work From The Inside Out with Tammy Gooler Loeb

Tammy Gooler Loeb joins our No Labels, No Limits podcast to chat about the ideas around the "Great Resignation" and career transitions happening on our timeline. We talk about positive daily habits, conforming in the workplace and in life, her journey to becoming self-employed, and learning to love what you do.

She says, "What people are wanting is to feel valued and appreciated and to feel like what they are doing is making a difference. Research shows what really motivates and engages people. Those factors haven't changed. What has changed is that everyone has been traumatized by the pandemic. The 'great resignation' is interpreted in a number of ways, but I think it has given people an opportunity to take more ownership of their work."

Cue her book, Work From The Inside Out: Break Through Nine Common Obstacles and Design a Career that Fulfills You, which uses real-life stories to illustrate and overcome hurdles holding you back.

  • 248 - Nourishing the Mind, Body, and Spirit with Sarah Boxx

Another great solo cast on the No Labels, No Limits podcast where I chat about the concepts behind Mind | Body | Spirit and what they mean to me.

Ever feel out of sync with the whole world? We all have those days. If you want to move past that feeling, start by getting very specific about what you feed your mind. Starve the negative thoughts and nourish the positive ones, and give your mind room to change. Start by setting your mind first thing in the morning, and set your intention for the day.

Pay attention to what you are feeding your body, and how you are expanding it through exercise and movement, but recognize where it is in the current moment. We have limitations, but we can still improve every day. There's a value in spending time, holistically, in your body.

Finally, take time to understand your relationship with the world around you. Spend time in spiritual practice. Try to get quiet and still more than once a day. Listen. Meditate. Allow yourself a space and a place to listen, to release, and trust there is a bigger purpose.

    Listen in as I share some personal insights: #mind #body #spirit #kindness #meditation #intention #foundationalwork #transitions

  • 246 - Winning Over Weakness with Sarah Boxx

This week's episode of the No Labels, No Limits podcast is a bit unique in comparison to others. In this solocast, I reveal some personal experiences that lead back to the idea of winning over weakness.

The adage that we are only as strong as our weakest link, what does that mean for different people? Are we not all the weakest link at some point, during some time in our life? When faced with weakness, as an Enneagram Type 5, I tend to withdraw and close myself off. However, I take those feelings with me and they simmer in my thoughts, which doesn't truly help me deal with the issue itself.

How do you react to being perceived as weak? More important to understand is, why you react that way. Listen in for more insights on the topic. If you're interested in learning your Enneagram Type, you can take your free test here: http://www.sarahboxx.com/enneagram/

  • 245 - Empowering Women Through Fashion with Jill Strickland Brown

Thank you for joining us and supporting the No Labels, No Limits podcast. This week we’re joined by Jill Strickland Brown, an entrepreneur, author and founder of Frox. She has been making her way in the fashion industry for more than 30 years, including working as a seven-figure sales rep and owning successful luxury boutiques. One of her strengths is organizing events to connect with and empower women. She is also the author of "Behind the Button" and a featured contributor in the book Success Reimagined.

She says, "We are all connected, we are all interwoven, and when you share your story you realize that you are not alone. These are the stories that thread us all together."

Today, I ask Jill to share her journey in life and fashion, what she’s learned, and how she’s used that to help others live without labels or limits. We’ll also discuss Jill’s book, “Behind the Button” and the intersection between fashion, hope, and transformation.

When asked about her store and the concept of investment pieces, she says, "My store is on trend, but not trendy. There's a few reasons you want investment pieces. A, wardrobe building and B, it's sustainable and biodegradable."

  • 244 - Shifting Your Launch with TaVona Denise

If you are part of the No Labels, No Limits community over at SarahBoxx.com you know we’ve been talking about wellness for ALL of our SELVES. From stress and rest to renewal and restoration.

That may not seem like a logical series of conversations for entrepreneurs and nonprofit leaders on the front edge of improving the conditions and experiences for others – maybe even off track a bit. Trust me, WHOLE PERSON WELLNESS is essential to our success.

We asked our community how they experience and address stress and trauma, and I received some very personal and vulnerable responses. I also received an offer to connect me to today’s guest, TaVona Denise.

We welcome TaVona, a very wise, successful, and insightful woman – in business and life - who can speak to trauma, courage, mindset and so much more.

TaVona Denise helps coaches redesign their business so they can actually have the lifestyle and impact they started the business for. A former physical therapist, master certified coach and business mentor, TaVona is the creator of Launch TherapyTM. This process helps coaches launch their group programs with ease so they can bring in their favorite clients consistently without suffering from launch burnout or hating the process.

TaVona is the author of Unstoppable Success: How to Finally Create the Body, Business and Lifestyle You Want and the voice behind the podcasts, Breaking Protocol and Coaching & Conversations.

She leaves us with a piece of wisdom when she says, "God/the Creator/Source/the Universe would never give you a vision for something without also giving you the means to achieve it."

When she is not handling business, you can find her singing karaoke or enjoying the white sands and beautiful blue waters of Mexico which she currently calls home.

He earned his BA at Stanford University in human biology and neuroscience and has over thirty years of teaching experience in martial art and health education. He proudly holds black belt rankings in karate and aikido and has traveled to Africa on several occasions to study human origins and the ancestral environment.

He’s a member of the Council of Elders at the MindBodyEcology Collective and a Diplomate member at The American Institute of Stress. We were surprised to learn that he's presented at numerous venues, including the Ancestral Health Symposium, Google, the Dr. Robert D. He says, "I look at the big picture of human history and life in the modern world. The takeaway is this: "You are not diseased."

For teachers, coaches, trainers, parents and anyone who works with people, we need to see and remember the autonomic nervous system.

In short, 'treat people like animals.'"
