No Limits: The Mitch Rapp Podcast

And now for something a bit different! Chris and Mike recap the Baghdad scene at the end of Separation of Power and compare it to one of the most daring hostage rescue operations in history - Operation Thunderbolt - conducted by the Israelis at Entebbe Airport in Uganda on July 4, 1976. We absolutely recommend checking out these three films on the subject: Raid on Entebbe (1977, free on YouTube), 7 Days in Entebbe (2018), and the National Geographic's Situation Critical: Entebbe Hostage Rescue documentary (2014, free on YouTube)

What do a white limo, a ring, and an open window all have in common? They each play role in making the 2nd half of Separation of Power freakin' badass! Chris and Mike wrap up Ch.24 to the end of Vince Flynn's 3rd Rapp novel and share their winners/losers, final ratings, and favorite covers of the book.

Note: Next week's bonus episode will be a discussion of the real-life Operation Thunderbolt, which is noted as one of the most successful special operation and hostage rescue missions in history. We can't help but think this event was inspiration to Vince when crafting the Baghdad mission in Separation of Power. In case you'd like to know more, we'll be discussing a few films that have been made about the event: Raid on Entebbe (1977, free on Youtube), 7 Days in Entebbe (2018), and a documentary from 2000 on YouTube.

October is Separation of Power month on MitchRappPod! Chris and Mike break down the first half (Ch. 1-23) of Vince's fourth book while they explore two key themes: love is in the air and games within games. The first half of this book is a bit out of character for Vince: light on action but heavy on relationships. Going from his home in Maryland, to work at Langley, and vacation in Milan, Rapp must navigate a delicate love triangle between his current and former lovers - one who is capable of breaking his heart and the other his spinal cord.

Wow, we can't believe it. Episode 25! For the first half of this episode, Chris and Mike give long-overdue shout-outs to our fantastic listeners. After that (spoiler alert!), things heat up as Mike offers a counterpoint to the basic premise of Total Power - that the electric grid is not as vulnerable as we might have been led to believe. Join us as we dissect a conversation with a family friend and electrical engineer with 37 years of experience working to keep the power grid running.

We are pumped to welcome Shawn A. Cosby, author of Blacktop Wasteland, as our second guest on No Limits: Author Series. Enjoy an hour of laughs, praise, and general banter with a truly fantastic guy. If you haven't read this book yet, stop what you're doing and pick up a copy. Seriously, Chris and I agree that it's a top candidate for book of the year.

Spoiler-free(ish) - No plot spoilers, but definitely a health discussion of characters and settings!

Last week, we enjoyed talking to Kyle so much that we decided to launch our Author Series! Every once in a while we will bring on another author to chat about their newest releases and writing careers. Of course, we will ALWAYS chat a little Rapp and ask what their favorite Vince Flynn book is!

In this episode, we welcome Ward Larsen, USA Today bestselling author of the Assassin Series starring David Slaton! His latest book, Assassin's Strike, was just released this month and immediately stood out as one of my favorite books of 2020. No joke, this is a must-read as you wait for the release of Total Power on Sept. 15!

In this episode on the #RoadtoTotalPower, we welcome special guest, Kyle Mills, to chat about all things Total Power and Lethal Agent. We pick his brain about plans for the next three Rapp books and get some hints about what's to come! A BIG thank you to Kyle for taking the time to talk with us and to David 'The Bus' Brown of Atria Books for arranging the interview.
