I received a letter from a listener and read it to you. I got the permission of the email writer to share it. It looks at the topic of 'hope' through the lens of an atheist. Thanks for listening and thanks for the emails, keep them coming. I will always check with you before I read it on the podcast so that you know.
HAPPY NEW YEAR! (This recording was made at the start of the new year.)
What are you letting go of from the previous year and picking up with the upcoming year? Let the podcast know in the comments or by email. Thanks for listening
I read an article written by Maree Dee. The article can be found at the following link: www.embracingtheunexpected.com/hopeful-new-year
As the end of the year draws near, I read two newsletters in my email. These newsletters are not supported or endorsed by the No Longer Hopeless podcast. The first is from a site called Black Bag Confidential, and the second is from a record label called MK837. I interviewed the MK837 owner, Dave Richards, in an earlier episode. (Episode aired April 11, 2024)

I reviewed a book from my library entitled 52 Bible Characters Dramatized: Easy to Use Monologues for All Occasions. Kenneth W. Osbeck writes it. I chose only to do one of them - Elizabeth. There are 50 more to go (I did Caleb recently). I would encourage you to add this to your library to aid in your devotions and study of these 52 characters.

I go back through the last year and read the comments left by listeners of the podcast. These are comments left via the Spotify platform. I started in the last part of the year 2023 and progressed through the year 2024. Thanks to all the listeners that left comments and thanks to all the listeners that did not leave a comment. I am grateful for you listening, comments are nice but having you as a listener is even better. Thanks again for going along with me on this journey.
I came across an article that is from The Greater Good Science Center. They are based out of Berkeley, CA. This is an article that reviews the book entitled '8 Ways to Hope' written by William Miller, PhD. I have not read this book. This article I share is a review and summary of this book. I found this interesting and wanted to share it with you for it looks at hope clinically.

**Program Note** Due to some technical issues I could not have the standard opening/closing of this podcast put into this recording. Due to this fact, the interview starts right away. It is being looked into and should be corrected by the next episode.
I had a chance to sit down with my dad, Galin Haygood, and interview him. It is a great interview. If there is any part of my Dad's story and/or message that spoke to you, please reach out and let him know. His email address is [email protected]. Be sure to mention that you heard the interview on this podcast.
I came across an article about hope from the most unlikely of places - The American Psychological Association (APA). I have never been to this site in my life, I am not really even sure how I came across this article however I am glad I did and I decided to share it with you. The full name of the article written by Ashley Abramson is called: Hope as the antidote - Hope may be the antidote to today's chaotic world. Here's how to cultivate it.

I read an article that I feel does a good job of showcasing how God shows Himself through nature. It lists five different ways this is done. By no means is this an end-all list however I thought it was a good list to build upon. The article I read can be found at the following link: https://www.christianity.com/wiki/god/how-does-god-reveal-himself-to-us-through-nature.html
