In this episode we had the pleasure of catching up with the Owner & Managing Director of Halliday Homes & Winner of Estate Agency of the year award Austin Halliday. Austin started his Estate Agency in Bridge of Allan (Central Scotland), and has grown his business over 5 years to two offices & 6 staff. Austin has built up a very credible brand that now dominates the local market where his company sells most of the homes. By being agile, smart & ambitious Austin was able to give excellent value to his community that was being under-served by some of the competition. From our chat with Austin it's clear to see he has built the company with the mindset to create long lasting credibility within his community, not just sell at all costs.
At such a young age Austin gives great insight into what it’s like to be a young owner of a successful business, he highlights some of the difficulties he faced starting the business; getting people to trust him to sell their home, hiring older staff, building a brand from scratch. Austin also gives great advice on how to manage your day & the power of routine. Finally Austin gives advice that will be useful for first time buyers.
