Welcome to Episode #7 of the No Right Path Podcast.

In this week’s episode we chat to Ryan Bennett. Ryan is a 1-2-1 in-person personal trainer based in Edinburgh, who has also impressively built himself an online following and coaching service throughout Covid-19.

During the podcast Ryan gives us an insight into the period of his life where he had a really bad relationship with body image, which ultimately lead him to suffering an eating disorder, where he effectively starved himself for two years. Following overcoming this, Ryan took the decision to study Sports & Exercise Science at University. His passion for helping friends in the gym and thinking back to how he wished he’d had guidance when suffering with body image issues in his younger days, motivated Ryan to becoming a Personal Trainer upon graduating from University in 2018. 

We dive into what life is actually like as a personal trainer, get his opinion on fitness trends , find out how you can improve your relationship with fitness and make a positive change to your life, as well as discussing how Ryan was forced to adapt his business model during Covid-19.

In this episode we chat with Grant, who unlike many of us grasped the opportunity to move to another country & work abroad. His appetite for living abroad began in the southern French city of Toulouse; Grants Erasmus experience. It was here Grant really caught the travel bug and by his own account started becoming comfortable with the uncomfortable. It was from this experience Grant took the opportunity to move to Madrid and work after graduating with a business degree at Glasgow Caledonian University. It has not been without its challenges & Grant has been through a number of different jobs before finding one where he can see himself long term. 

We get a great insight into the cultural differences between Spain & the UK, what it's like to live & work in Spain, as well as Grant giving some great advice on Spanish specific moves and general advice for engineering a remote working role globally. We hope you enjoy this episode.

Hey Guys,

In this episode we chat with Jeremy & go deep into his life growing up in Northern Scotland where he openly admits his struggle with excessive drinking and substance abuse. Jeremy always knew there was more to life and that he could get more out of life than he was getting in his early 20’s, the constant 3 day benders over the weekends and not showing up for work on Monday was really affecting him mentally and led to a very difficult time in his life. 

We chat with Jeremy who is now a very different person & probably one of the most positive people we have ever met. His outlook on life has completely changed, and he is now an aspiring life coach with his own “6 Week Challenge” (coming out soon). Jeremy explains his journey from those tough moments to where he is now and everything in between.  

Jeremy is very open & honest about the challenges he faced and gives truly great advice from first-hand experience on how people can get out of a difficult place and achieve what they want out of life. He gives real examples and techniques you can start using today that will allow you to have a more positive outlook on the way you see the world.

Hey Everyone, in this episode we had the pleasure of catching up with Eilidh who started her own venture designing prosthetic limbs to make them more stylish, relatable & unique for people to wear. Eilidh’s adventure started at Grays school of art in Aberdeen before being introduced to the world of prosthetics with an internship in Canada, helping injured people in 3rd world countries. Eilidh discusses life after uni, serving Pizza’s, working for Fablab & getting made redundant. After that experience Eilidh Lands a brilliant job working for travel product company Trtl where she has now been promoted to Senior Product Designer and gets the opportunity to travel across the globe. 

Eilidh has accomplished a lot at such a young age, but it really shows that achievement is never without adversity, and in Eilidh's case this takes the form of working long hours and being made redundant. Something that you can really understand in this podcast is Eilidh’s passion and enthusiasm for her craft.

Hey everyone,
In this episode we chat with Paul who had a unique experience studying in America for 4 years. Paul made a choice to leave his accountancy course in Scotland after 1 year to pursue his dream of getting a football scholarship in the states and playing the sport he loves at a high level. We chat to Paul about the process of getting a scholarship, tuition in the states, moving out to America and what his day to day life was like as a #StudentAthlete. Inaugural Episode: Life Beyond Uni with Alex 

Our very first guest on the podcast was our good friend Alex. We had the pleasure of speaking to Alex about his journey after university and what was so apparent is Alex faced some strange times after graduating from RGU with a first in International Business. He is extremely open and honest about the highs and lows he has faced since graduating uni, and the difficulties with the age old question  ‘what to do next’. 

This journey led him from completing odd jobs in Aberdeen, to moving down to Bristol with no job, ending up in recruitment to make ends meet before landing a dream job at Airbus that fits in with his natural entrepreneurial mindset. 

It was great to speak to Alex and he has some fantastic stories on aspects of his life and gives a very good and real account into some of the challenges many grads face once leaving uni.
