In this episode, Brody walks through Mark 9 and discusses the reality of sin and hell. For those of us who are in Christ, we don’t have to fear hell. But, the reality of hell should motivate us to share the Gospel with unbelievers. 

Brody walks through 3 key things Jesus teaches us about hell in the Bible. Hell is a place of punishment and destruction, and it separates people from God.

Because of Christ and what he’s done for us on the cross, we are free from the punishment our sin has earned. Let’s fix our eyes on Christ and share this good news with those around us.

How do we address this cultural issue of students not wanting to step into adulthood?

A recent survey from Intelligent.com, where they surveyed employers on interviewing young adults today, tells us that 53% of young adults struggle with eye contact, 47% dress inappropriately for the interview, 27% use inappropriate language while in the interview, and 19% brought a parent with them to their interview. 

We are seeing a lack of maturity from young adults in today's culture. In this episode, Brody walks through 7 issues we need to address with the mentality some young adults may have. Our goal as parents, youth pastors, and mentors is to see the students under us step into adulthood with confidence, and the qualities we see in 1 Corinthians 13:11.

Let’s encourage and equip the young adults we know by pointing them to the Lord and showing them what Christ calls them to be.

Satan is the father of lies. He attacks us in our weakest moments and right after great victories in our lives. So, we need to be aware of Satan’s schemes and fight his lies by filling our minds with truth.

Today marks day one of staff training for SWO24! Our staff will be arriving throughout the day and we will worship together tonight. To kick off this summer, Brody walks through our mission statement and gives a preview of what staff training will consist of. 

This episode is all about why we do what we do — and the story behind it.

How should we deal with discouragement and depression as believers?

The Lord has encouraging words for those who are struggling. In this episode, Brody walks through discouragement in the life of Paul and 8 principles we can learn from it. The darkness of sin and this fallen world will sometimes wear us down.

1. God will often use our hardships, experiences and difficulties to encourage others or help them through hard times.
2. Don’t sit around. Do something productive.
3. The most faithful thing you and I can do is preach Jesus to others.
4. Discouragement often comes on the heels of a great move of God.
5. The darkness of sin and the world will sometimes wear you down, weary you and discourage you. 
6. The Lord is with you, will never leave you, and will give you strength and courage. 
7. I need fellowship. 
8. I need a word from the Lord.

How can we as parents disciple and train our children according to scripture?

In this episode, Brody shares some thoughts from Proverbs 22:6 and how we can raise our children faithfully. Children are controlled by their sinful nature and at times their enabling parents. Their discipleship as Christ-followers should be our number one priority.
