Now that Paul has shown us everything we need to "Go for the Gold," he begins to wrap up the book of 1 Corinthians. In the second half of chapter 15, Paul shows us that our best days are ahead of us. After the struggle and toil we have on earth with sin, Satan, and death, Jesus will one day lead us to our glory days! Days that will last for the rest of eternity!

If you've ever had questions or wondered about what it will mean and look like that believers (and unbelievers) get a new physical body, this is the episode for you! What will our new bodies look like? Will we be able to recognize loved ones? Why does Jesus say there is no marriage in heaven? Join us to find out!

We are in the home stretch of our series, Going for the Gold in 2023! This week - Game Changer! What is the most essential Truth in Scripture? What is the Truth that holds all of the other Truths together? What is the Truth that if it isn't true, causes everything else in The Bible to fall apart? What Truth, if not true, makes our faith useless? Jesus' Resurrection!

Join us as we look at the first part of 1 Corinthians 15 and why Paul says if we aren't 100% convinced of the actual and physical resurrection of Jesus, and all of the implications that go along with it, we are believing in vain.

Every individual or team going for the gold needs a game plan! For the Christian church going for the crown, that is liturgy. Liturgy is not formal, traditional worship as most believe. It's actually just the order of the worship service - It's the game plan for Sunday mornings. What does the Bible tell us about the worship service? Does it give suggestions of music, sermons, prayers, or anything else? More specifically, what does Paul have to say about it in 1 Corinthians 14? Join us as we are in the homestretch of Going for the Gold in 2023!

People are addicted to love! Romance movies, books, and t.v. shows are widely popular.  The problem is, there are so many views and definitions of what love actually is, that it creates a lot of confusion.  We are at chapter 13 in 1 Corinthians - the "Love Chapter."

We've all been to at least one wedding where parts of this chapter were quoted. Even besides weddings, we see portions or all of 1 Cor. 13 quoted and splattered all over on artwork, needlework, social media accounts, even billboards. It's been called the most beloved passages in all of Scripture. Even some unbelievers say that the Bible got it right with this chapter.

Join us as we delve into Paul’s words on love and see how all of the secular views on love, and even many Christians’ views, stacks up to actual biblical meaning of 1 Corinthians 13.

What is "Speaking in Tongues" exactly? Is it an actual known language or is it a mysterious "spiritual" language? Is it a Spiritual gift given to believers today? Is having the gift of tongues evidence of salvation? Is it evidence of a deep, intimate relationship with God?  If it is a sign that is to be practiced by believers, like some suggest Mark 16:17 indicates, how about the other signs that passage mentions like drinking poison and handling snakes? Is it a gift you can "get" or "learn?"

Tune in to part 12 of Going for the Gold as we discuss everything "tongues!"

On our race for the gold, we need to stop and get refreshed! In this episode, we look at 1 Corinthians, chapter 11, and what Paul says about communion. There are at least five views on what communion is. Even the Reformer fathers didn't agree on it! So what does the Bible say and not say about partaking of communion?

We are to race to win!! But often, we find hurdles in our way that litter and obscure our course.  Christians, especially in the West, can easily find themselves tripped up by the hurdles of comfort, security, control, approval of others, and other idols that keep us from running a clean race  firmly planted in God's Truth. We need to clear these hurdles from the track so we can run to victory!

Paul has a lot to say about this in 1 Corinthians, chapter 10! Join us!

"If you aren't first, you're last." In our, "everybody gets a participation trophy" society, this sounds harsh, but ask any serious athlete and they will tell you they aren't training hard, sacrificing, agonizing sometimes to get a participation trophy! They are singularly focused on winning first prize. That's why there is a first prize! It's for the best of the best! Paul and Scripture would agree with this. In our Christian race, we aren't called to hang in the middle pack with the big pack of  average athletes, and we certainly aren't called to be at the back of the back dawdling, taking in the view, and stopping to rest! For those God has called, He has called to run the race He has set before us and to win it!

What does all of this mean? Join us and find out!
