  • ’My People Won’t Stand For It’: The Friday Show
CLR Show 1763. Air Date September 16, 2022.  Donald has reached the unvarnished threat stage, declaring yesterday that, if indicted, his 'people would never stand for it' and that 'you'll experience problems like this country has never seen before.' That would, hopefully, be pure hyperbole on his part. Still, 1/6 actually happened, and was a reaction to a similar Trump call to arms. With Friday Co-Host, David Bach.

  • The Re-Dignifying of America?
CLR Show 1762. Air Date August 9, 2022. As we contemplate the dignity and grace of the late Queen Elizabeth, is it too soon––or simply too much––to consider a possible re-dignifying of America?  After the indictment, trial, conviction and sentencing of Donald, might President Biden offer a commutation of his sentence alone (based on a number of fiscal, physical and political restrictions) on the condition that Donald freely and openly admit to his crimes? Yes, the latter is highly unlikely. But might such an offer set an appropriate, dignified precedent for future American presidents?

  • A Well-Purchased Judge
CLR Show 1761. Air Date September 6, 2022. Judge Aileen Cannon has just granted Donald a Special Master to review the status of classified and personal documents seized as part of the FBI's Mar-A-Lago search. This defies all judicial precedent and reinforces the notion that Donald is above the law, that the criminal justice system is for sale and and that the Department of Justice can still be thwarted by a twice impeached, disgraced ex-President. It also guarantees Donald's eventual indictment.

  • Finding Our Voice
CLR Show 1760. Air Date September 2, 2022. The democrats and Joe Biden have finally settled on a communications strategy that leaves Trump and MAGA Republicans no choice but to perform exactly as advertised––by Biden and the democrats. Republicans have been appropriately branded as anti-everything, beginning with the Constitution and anything that would improve the lives of ordinary Americans. And things will only get worse for MAGA sorts (and the rest of us?) as Trump's indictment and conviction loom.

  • In Case You Missed It...
CLR Show 1759. Air Date August 30, 2022. The disgraced, twice-impeached, former president has raised the rhetorical ante to unprecedented levels. Eschewing any reference to his legal rights or status, he has demanded immediate reinstatement as president or, in the alternative, the immediate invalidation of the 2020 election. Why? Because he wasn't afforded an unfair advantage by the FBI publicly announcing an investigation of the contents of Hunter Biden's laptop. Like they did with Hillary Clinton's. This is tantamount to an admission of legal defeat on Donald's part. How will his radicalized base and feckless republican politicians respond?

  • Donald, Unprotected: The Friday Show
CLR Show 1758. Air Date August 26, 2022. Donald in Mar-a-Lago operates with none of the constraints or protections that might have buffered him during his occupancy of the White House. In an effort to remain all-powerful and supremely relevant he has done things with classified materials that would have landed anyone else in jail long ago.  He legal team is a joke. All that's left is his mouth, his grievances and those who feed off of them.  This will all end.  The question remains: how? With Friday Co-Host, David Bach.

  • Something’s Comin’
CLR Show 1757. Air Date August 23, 2022. As Donald and his enablers run out of explanations for his retention of classified documentation and a viable legal defense fails to materialize, he will resort to his perpetual playbook and go for a big, spotlight-capturing announcement. The only one big enough will be a declaration for the presidency.  And that will accelerate the downward spiral of the republican party and the likelihood of increased domestic turmoil, immeasurably.

  • The Risk Is Real
CLR Show 1756. Air Date August 19, 2022.  Trump may have given his followers a culture of perpetual grievance. Followed by a list of potential targets to unleash their frustrations on. But it is the feckless former republican party that is now endorsing and validating the worst proclivities of both Trump and his followers.  Out of fear for their jobs. Unwilling to recognize that if they continue to provoke and unleash the mobs, there may not be a recognizable government to have jobs in.  The risk is real. With Friday Co-Host, David Bach.

  • Just A Matter Of Time
CLR Show 1755. Air Date August 16, 2022.  It's no longer a question of whether a Trump indictment is in the offing. The only issue is when.  Donald's inevitable reaction/strategy will be to incite his base in the most garish and excessive way possible, then eschew any unsavory results. The unknown for all America is, how will we weather the inevitable trial(s) and conviction(s)?  If history is any indicator, there will be difficult times ahead. But we'll come through stronger in the end.

  • The Garland Gambit: The Friday Show
CLR Show 1754. Air Date August 12, 2022. Merritt Garland's Motion to a Florida Federal Court to unseal both the Warrant and Inventory associated with the recent raid on Mar-a-Lago has left Donald in the unusual position of having to catch up with the narrative. 'Show them everything, they just lie about me anyway' is his fallback position. But why didn't he point out the lies in the documentation five days earlier, or any time during? Only the most rabid Trumpians can embrace this level of obvious calumny––and, unfortunately, they will. With Friday Co-Host, David Bach.
