In this episode we will be busting a pretty commonly believed training myth. This is that training needs to be highly uncomfortable/painful to be effective.
This is a common narrative and is visible in "motivational" training slogans like:
no pain no gain.
The pain you feel today will be the strength you feel tomorrow.
Use the pain as fuel and keep on going.
You push through the pain because results matter.
It is a common misconception pushed by the fitness industry that training has to be uncomfortable to be effective. This isn't true. And it certainly isn't motivating.
And it's dangerous to think that pain is an acceptable part of training.
