In this episode of 'Nope, That's Not Normal', Jess wants to remind us all that there is no one way to approach healing from disordered eating or body image struggles. She explores the complexities of the anti-diet community, the significance of internal desires versus external pressures, and the ongoing nature of healing. True healing is about finding what feels good and authentic to oneself—and Jess shares a few ways to determine that path for yourself.

In this episode, Jessica and Abbie talk about why you may not think you have food rules (but you probably do, sorry to say it!) while sharing their personal experiences with food rules and this rigid approach to eating. They get into the importance of self-compassion and the need for 1:1 or community support in healing. Plus, Abbie shares a bunch of practical steps to unlearn those harmful food rules and shift into a more intuitive and compassionate relationship with food.
As an unplanned bonus, the first 10 minutes are spent discussing exercise, intuitive movement, and shifts they both made around their “workouts” in support of healing their relationships with their bodies. Consider this a little mini bonus!
