PRODUCTION NOTE: Our name has changed but our levels of delusion and derangement have not! Lit By Moonlightis now Normal About It - where we're anything but!
For an episode titled "Endure and Survive" the characters on this show don't seem to do a whole lot of that! One of us barely endured and survived this week, but we MADE IT and all it cost was yet another heart breaking episode from HBO's The Last of Us. This week we discuss how Henry and Sam act as a mirror for Joel and Ellie, Kathleen's ironic fate, the emphasis of childhood innocence, and what music we're putting on our Bloater Thirst Trap playlist!

THE SHIP HAS SET SAIL!!! In our rewatch of Our Flag Means Death, Episode 4, 'Discomfort in a Married State,' we feel very comfortable telling you that we are in love with the dynamic between Ed and Stede. This episode provides the proper introduction to Blackbeard-aka Edward Teach- and his heart eyes, we feel Stede's guilt for leaving his family but give all of our love to Mary, Izzy remains So Stressed, and we start to feel a certain type of way towards lighthouses!

In this week's review of The Last of Us, episode four, "Please Hold to My Hand," we discuss the bond that's growing between Joel and Ellie, songs that we'd play on an apocalyptic road trip, and how we've both fallen victim to the dvcree Pedro Pascal edit and there's no coming back!

Do you think that when The Beach Boys released 'Our Prayer' in 1969 they knew that it would one day be used to signify love at first sight? Yeah, probably not, but we can't stop screaming it either way. Episode three of Our Flag Means Death brought us the memorable introduction of Blackbeard, fabulous booty's, hilarious guest stars, and a plethora of lines we cannot stop quoting. It's safe to say that when we decided to do this rewatch to lead up to season two, we did not account for the gay pirate insanity to increase tenfold but maybe that's on us.
The Damned Man(ny) may or may not make an appearance in this episode teehee ¿❤️🩹?

How's everyone doing this week? You okay? Have you cried yourself out yet? We sure haven't! Just when we think we have a grip on where this story is going, HBO's The Last of Us pulls the rug right out from under us and laughs as we watch yet another heart-wrenching storyline play out. This week, we discuss the incredible writing and story expansion of Bill and Frank, how hope and fear can coexist, finding your purpose in the darkest of times, and the show's love of introducing us to a character we get attached to only for them to swiftly be taken away from us by the end of the episode. Help! We're also wondering where Nick Offerman and Murray Bartlett's Emmys are and whether or not Ellie would have enjoyed the Great Fish Debacle of 2018!

This week, things get a little heated when we discuss things like friendship, golden retrievers and #stiddies! This episode shows its comedic chops with lines that refuse to leave our heads, has a background character that may have more to him than we think, and gives us a liiiitle inkling to where the show may be headed. Whether we saw any of it coming is still up for debate.
Will the Damned Man ever make his appearance? Stay tuned to find out!

In our final book review of the year, we lose the ability to form coherent thoughts and it is all Hafsah Faizal's fault! In our review of We Free the Stars, we discuss incredible character dynamics, beautiful world building, quotes that really cut to our core, even Emberlin's cat Manny has things to say about this book-it tore him apart! Have you ever seen an episode of Peanuts? Yeah you, reading this, you ever see it? Ya know how when one of the characters is in distress, say, Charlie Brown just to name a guy, and he just kinda...throws his head back and yells but all you can see of his face is his big open mouth yelling? That's kinda how we feel about this book. Only that our distress is caused by the pain of not being able to fully articulate how much we love this book and not because some girl took a football away before we could kick it.
We've had a wonderful first year of podcasting and we couldn't thank you all enough for tuning in this year! We have SO MUCH in store for you in 2023. like, a lot.
