The Holy Spirit is either over-emphasized in churches or tragically under-emphasized. But if we want the power of God He has created us for, we must be filled with His Spirit. What does that even mean? This sermon tries to answer those questions.

Many people claim to know when Jesus will return. The problem is, Jesus said no one will know. He does warn us, though, to be ready since we don't know the time. This parable illustrates what readiness looks like as we remember Jesus and obey Him.

The Kingdom of God is more valuable than anything else in this world. And it is worth losing everything else for. This pair of parables illustrates how when we value His Kingdom we determine to enter it and sacrifice to enter it.

Like the Pharisee, we can have too high of a self-view. God will humble us in that and it may indicate that we are not truly His. Instead, we must honestly assess our sinfulness and come in humble repentance to the Lord for mercy. God will lift us up when we do.

So often we as Christians gratefully receive the mercy of God then hold vengeance over someone else's head. It should not be that way, Jesus says. Christians ought to be quick to forgive rather than quick to condemn.
