Jesus pierced the hearts of the religious people around Him by challenging the foundation of their lives. He does the same for us today. Is it anything other than Him and His words? If so, it will not hold up at the end or in this life.

The culmination of the entire exodus narrative is God's glory and presence filling the tabernacle. That moment in Israel's history points us back to creation, forward to Jesus, and future to heaven. And since God dwells in His children today, that brings with it specific benefits.

When God called Israel to build Him a dwelling place, He provided for them both with materials and workers. Today, God resources and gifts His people to take His presence to the nations and to serve the Church. That means every person and role is vitally important.

It's okay not to be okay. God meets us right where we are, and forgives in His mercy. Israel did not deserve the restoration God gave them, and we do not deserve God's love and transformation in His jealous glory.

Exodus has shown us that God is infinitely holy. Yet, as we see in the tabernacle and here, God is also ever-present with His people. He also wants to meet with us like a friend. Listen as to why and how He does.

God is holy, and sin and idolatry have consequences. Don't just think that it takes a golden calf to be idolatrous; we are just as prone to it today--and it takes many different forms. Flee from it and run to the One who paid the penalty for it.

As the priests had to be purified by the bull's blood in order to serve the Lord in the tabernacle, so we need to be purified by our Great High Priest's blood. We can then take advantage of that access to God in intimacy, prayer, service, and making disciples.

God planned the tabernacle in extreme detail so that He could have a suitable dwelling place here on earth. All of the elements and processes pointed to His glory and holiness. In Christ, the tabernacle has been completed and He makes His people (corporately and individually) His dwelling place today and forever.
