Week 2 of The Fountain & the Field, a five-week journey through the book of Jeremiah at North Metro Church. God calls himself the fountain of living water, and this week looks honestly at the cisterns we build in his place.

What you trust decides whether you shrivel or stay green when the heat comes. Week 1 of The Fountain & the Field, a five-week journey through the book of Jeremiah at North Metro Church. Jeremiah preached into a world that felt like it was coming apart, and he refused both easy comfort and despair. This week starts underground, with what you are actually trusting. The book of Jonah ends with a question God asks, and Jonah never answers, on purpose, because it's aimed at us. Week 5, the finale of Jonah: The God Who Won't Let Go, gets to the real problem in the story: not the storm, not the fish, not Nineveh, but Jonah's own heart. Jonah 4:1-11, ESV.

God's grace restores failed people and reaches unlikely people.

Week 4 highlights two displays of mercy: God gives Jonah another shot, and God gives Nineveh a chance to repent. Don't rush past "the word of the Lord came to Jonah a second time"; that's not just forgiveness, that's recommissioning. Jonah preaches maybe the shortest sermon in Scripture, and an entire city turns. The power was never in his delivery. It was in God's word.

It looks like judgment, but it's actually provision. Week 3 of Jonah: The God Who Won't Let Go reframes the fish as rescue, not punishment, and traces a direct line from Jonah's story to Jesus. Jonah 1:17-2:10, ESV.

A storm hits the ship carrying Jonah away from God's call, and while the prophet sleeps, the sailors around him start to fear and worship the Lord. Week 2 of Jonah: The God Who Won't Let Go looks at what it means when God disturbs our comfort for the sake of rescue. Jonah 1:4-16, ESV.

In this moving talk from the Fall 2026 Women's Gathering at North Metro Church, guest speaker Beth Guckenberger shares a powerful message on the importance of our personal and spiritual "bank accounts of testimonies." Drawing from the biblical stories of Rahab, Ruth, and David, Beth explores how God uses every part of our history, even the messy parts, to prime us for our purpose and to encourage the generations coming after us. She introduces the Hebrew concept of Tohu Vavohu (chaos) and shows how, throughout Scripture and our own lives, God meets us in the water, speaks peace (Shalom), and empowers us to resist temptation.

Jonah's story starts with a clear command and an immediate refusal. But his disobedience wasn't really about geography; it was about trust. Week 1 of Jonah: The God Who Won't Let Go. Jonah 1:1-3, ESV.

We're closing Getting in the Game with Week 4: Who's Your "One"? Active faith always moves outward. This week, we're asking everyone to name one person they can pray for, invite, encourage, and help find and follow Jesus. The invitation isn't to carry pressure — it's to live sent, with eyes open for the one God has placed in front of you.

Week 3 of Getting in the Game is called No Lone Rangers Allowed! Following Jesus was never meant to be a solo sport. We need people around us who know us, encourage us, challenge us, and walk with us. This week is an invitation to move from isolation to community — to find your team and take a step toward real connection.
