The restaurant reopened the next day, Oct. 12, when inspectors returned and observed no violations.
The high-priority violation stemmed from seven live roaches found in four different locations in the restaurant — the service counter, supply hallway, mop sink area and by the hot water heater. One of the basic violations was also for five dead roaches found inside the restaurant.
The intermediate violations were for an accumulation of black/green mold-like substance in the ice machine in the service area and no paper towels or mechanical hand-drying device at the handwashing sink and no paper towels in the men’s bathroom. The other basic violation was for the interior of the microwave in the food preparation area being soiled with “encrusted food debris.”
