You may not think doom metal and yoga have much in common, but one woman from Portland is blending the two, offering a new way to zen out.

O-P-B’s Amanda Linares [[lee-NARR-es]] recently attended a class where metalheads and yogis unite.

The Klamath Fish Hatchery in Chiloquin (chill-o-quinn) burned down during the 2020 labor day fires. The hatchery supplies over 50 lakes across the state, supporting recreation fishing. Jefferson Public Radio's Roman Battaglia (buh-TALLY-uh) visited the recently rebuilt hatchery.

In the aftermath of the tragic tank implosion that killed 11 mill workers in Longview, officials have found thousands of dead fish in the nearby dikes and ditches. The fish are reminders of the extreme toxicity of the ‘white liquor’ that spilled.

Things are mostly back to normal in the Consolidated Diking District in Longview. The system helps that community control flooding. Authorities used its pumps and ditches and sloughs to flush and dilute the chemical spill from the Nippon [nip-PON] Dynawave Mill last month.
