  • 212: Joy and Pain

Joy Hill continues with her story.  We talk about how the 'people' hurt her with their indifference and inaction when she was betrayed by her ex-husband.  We also talk about how she's found purpose and joy through her pain.  In part, she's done that by mentoring other women in her Joy For the Journey Coaching program.  Check it out here on her website.  And check me out at GoReeReeGo.com and pick up my book, Not Bitter. Just Petty. My thoughts on my cheating husband and his side piece that are trivial and of little importance.

  • 210: Weaponizing Strength

Joy is our guest today.  She talks about being labeled negatively within her family because of her strength.  The irony is, a lot of times, women who receive the label of "strong", "combative", or like in Joy's case, "vitriolic" have been forced into positions of strength or into the role of protector in support of the very people that use their 'strength' against them.  Listen to Joy talk about how being labeled as strong happened and how it has been weaponized in dating, family, and other social relationships.

  • 209: Wear the Bonnet, Sis

In this episode, I'm ranting... I mean talking... about Derrick Jaxn's wife and her bonnet.  She calls it her helmet of salvation and I'm here for it.  I have no idea what her spiritual and worldly motivations are behind appearing with the bonnet, but what I do know is that it has nothing to do with her worthiness as a wife.  Stop clowning the women for staying, for leaving, for protecting herself and her children, her future, her money, and / or her bonnet.  Derrick Jaxn is better than the  "Nyles'"of the world anyway. At least he stayed and is trying (for now).  And the other women Derrick tricked into a relationship are getter that the damn Krisica's of the world. At least they didn't know he was married, nor were they married.

  • 208: Es Ee Ex

Kay is the guest on this episode and she's being pretty dang on open about her feelings on the double standards concerning sex! Our conversation began months ago at a party, where she challenged my bias toward how I viewed sex and my daughters vs. how I viewed sex and my sons.  I hope it begins a big old conversation about why we hold the views we do.  She closes the episode giving her thoughts on what needs to change... number one for me is prenups should be normal. Number one for her seems to be normalizing female masturbation today! Oh goodness.  We talkin' 'bout it!

  • 207: Less Than Paycheck to Paycheck

In this episode, my guest is my cousin Neka.  She provides a view of child support from the perspective of a mother who was never married.  Her story is all too familiar.  When the child support order catches up with the father of her elder daughter, he quits his job and the process must then start all over again.  The end result?  Her daughter has received about $5,000 in support over 16 years.  There is no money for basic comforts. Robbing Peter to pay Paul isn't an option because in her life, Paul is often broke as well.  She is often left effectively homeless because their housing is always insecure.  Listen to this episode and hear her story.

  • 206: Make It A Thousand

This episode features a past guest, Debra, talking about her efforts to cooperatively get child support from her husband.  When that didn't work, she was forced to turn to the court system.  Why then, was her husband so upset when she did ?!? These men - caught in an affair, lying to make it make since, wanting to abandon their wives and children- yet don't want to pay the "cost to get lost"!  Listen to Debra tell her story and know that there are so many similarities between what her husband said and what Nyles has said.  Uncanny.  Let me know what you think! www.goreereego.com

  • 205: A Better Man Than Me

Today's guest is talking candidly about how his childhood experiences with abuse, neglect, and rape shaped him as a man, husband, and father.  He courageously admits that he brought some of that baggage into his marriage and into adulthood.

More men than you know are weighed down by their childhood.  In my opinion, they destroy their families before they deal with their baggage.  Listen to this episode and let me know your thoughts!
